Had over 900k credits, bought mixed SP's and PSP's. Got 4 UR upgrades (2 in one pack!) and maxed Argus to X.
Best credits ever spent.

To clarify, this gun isn't gonna replace the Harrier. Even at lvl IV, my new Argus is weaker than my new Harrier I.

What the Argus means though, is that you can now have a decent AR at the Rare level that isn't actually an LMG.

There' way too much high-recoil on this weapon and DPS is lacking though, but over all it's a good weapon.

Actually, it's weight setup is 2.0-1.4, making it heavier than the main LMG, the Revenant, which has a 1.8-1.25 setup. Also, if the numbers I've seen and used in calculations are correct, then you're only looking at around 400 DPS reload-cancelled, putting it on par with the Vindicator (which is lighter but suffers from armor reduction more).

The concept is good, a heavy 3-round burst weapon to fill that currently non-existent niche. If they buff it to reasonable levels for its competing weapons (the other rare ARs, namely the Revenant) then I could see some people adopting it. Until then though, it's too weak for the price. Still wish that they'd release the N7 Valkyrie in MP with a lower weight limit (sitting between the 0.5-0.7 and 1.2-1.4 categories), high power and otherwise identical to its SP counterpart. That thing was a lesson in pacing shots and well-aimed death, it'd work especially well in Mp thanks to the two-shot system, less is wasted on shield gate without costing much in the armor reduction department.

this thread is hilarious..havent used it yet, so dont know if all the negativity is correct...i doubt it...going by past bsn history, when a new gun is released, if it doesnt have great spreadsheet stats/info or kill something instantly on gold (now plat i guess), it's deemed useless....then in about a week or 2, after a bsn celebrity post about how the gun is actually good, the tune changes...seen it happen with the piranha, the acylote(sp), and ppr just to name a few recent examples....

The Argus is heavy, weak, and inaccurate. If that's what you like, you will enjoy it.

High recoil, slow ROF two major disadvantages of Argus. Manually compensate the recoil is hard but not impossible but this is the first AR that really needs stability mod to be usable. However, if the recoil is lower and refire time decrease then it'll turned into vindicator 2.0 - a bad decision. We don't need a hard-hitting copy of vindicator.

The disadvantages, recoil and refire time, should be left as it is since they make the gun feels more unique. Increase the damage to compensate, make it hit harder instead of turn it into a new vindicator.

I don't know man, a hard-hitting rare vindicator sounds fun to use to me. I love the vindicator as well, i would love an upgraded version of it. But i know i'm probably in the minority about this... ><

Actually, I finally upgraded mine to X and its useful when combined with Adrenaline Rush for the huge weapon damage boost at CQ range. Based on my experience in the SP, there is very little recoil when fired from cover but I feel like I'm doing less damage. On a side note, can this gun stagger well?

I've got mine at VIII, and I think it's a fine weapon, especially so after putting Stability Mod and Extended Barrel on it. Hell, I thought it was good at the first rank when I tried it on my Human Adept. I have absolutely no ****ing idea why people think it's a terrible gun. Like someone said earlier, it's like a cross of the Vindicator and the Saber. I think it's going to be permanently used on my N7 Paladin along with the Eviscerator.

According to other players the only issue is its stability to be honest and its low rate of fire compared to a vindicator. I have no problems with its damage or accuracy.

The low rate of fire and horrid lack of stability makes my eyes bleed black tears of sorrow and suffering. It's nice finally having some assault rifles that pack a punch, but having the Argus X is disappointing, especially when someone joins with a Harrier, even a Harrier I. I used the Barrage Upgrade V with Weapon Stability +30% and a Stabilization Module III, and I still couldn't get all three bullets to hit a Cannibal from a decent distance. It's a bit ridiculous having to waste so many equipment slots just to be able to properly use a gun that doesn't do THAT much damage, all things considered.

Just sayin'.

It is described as an excellent close range weapon. It's not a goddamn sniper rifle. Not sure what the fuss is, I used it on Gold yesterday and it was solid. Nothing to write your momma home about, but not trash either. Requires some getting used to as well. It could MAYBE use a minor buff to damage and a slightly decreased recoil and nothing else. I like the clip and magazine size very much.

The gun needs rate of fire buff or damage buff.

Atm, it's useless, I do much better job even with Phaestorm.

I totally agree man.  I really like this gun but I can understand people wanting a damage buff or a reduced refire rate.  But if you can't hit a cannibal with this thing from a decent distance after putting a stabilization mod on it that's on you.  I'm scoring all three shots to the head at medium to medium-long range.
