Fact: He's part of an Indiana Jones subquest.  There's a Temple of Doom in PE that you need to have him in your party to complete.

Are you sure it is a temple of Doom and not a temple of Elemental Evil?

In loving memory of Argan1985...he at least tried it

http://social.biowar...ndex/14235800/1

This is why BW can no longer make an RPG of some value...it hooked too much desperate individuals that seeks only artificial dose of something they miss in RL...

After all, button smashing makes awesome things happen.

Anywho,

Why is Edair carrying a whip, is he a slave driver?

He is either Dr.Jones type or using whip to cut out magi tongue.
He seems too "goody" to be a slave driver, looks can be deciving tough :)
Nevertheless im so happy to see a whip in game.(I mean its just art but  i really hope whips are in game!)

This is an Obsidian game though.

Actually, that was in place to make the player understand that the Enclave were not faceless monsters, but rather a fallible human operation composed of human beings.
Well, save for the killer AI in charge.

We're at $1,971,000. So it looks like the player house stetch goal will be reached early tommorow or so. Sweet.

I upped my contribution to get the Chris Avellone novella. $50 is fair for the game anyway.

Oh yes.  I'm super excited about that Novella. The only stuff from Avellone I've read has been what's in the games themselves. I'm curious to see his prose.

And I wish that Novella would come out (and be shipped or downloadable), say, a month before the game. If it comes out with the game, then the game takes  precidence, which mean I'll probably get lazy and not bother with it

I've only read "All Roads," the comic he wrote for Fallout New Vegas, but I liked it. A while back I asked him on Twitter if he would ever consider writing a Fallout novel and he replied something like "I'd write, read, devour anything like that." I'll gladly take this instead.  :wizard:

He have to write the Wasteland 2 novella first. It will probably come after the game is released.

This is all the gameplay we have seen. It only shows off the camera.  Here is the vision document for you to drool over. fyi if you didn't know Fallout is inspired and considered the spiritual successor to Wasteland 1.

Looks like the momentum has slowed down for Project Eternity. Obsidian needs to announce some more stretch goals.

Yeah, the thing about Skyrim is that it was astronomical on every conceivable level, and that included marketing, obviously,  The whole thing is on a "big" wavelength. That picture you see above was only the tip of the iceberg. One tiny little blip in what was a year long ad blitz.  They took over an entire city block  for one of the cons  (Quakecon 2011, maybe?)

Of course, when you have a one hundred million dollar budget to play with, you can do whatever the hell you want. The rules  change for you.  The game itself cost an extreme mount of money to make.  And,  The game sold an obscene number of copies.

Idk, guys. For me, the only thing Skyrim really has going for it is the pretty environments and non linearity/open endedness of it. Gameplay (combat) is not good, the story elements (writing/characters/dialogs/choices and consequences..) are lame and Beth's rpg mechanics are laughable.

Beth should just concentrate on the damn combat system and streamline their rpg mechanics. Make an open-world action-adventure game with Blade of Darkness/Dark Souls style combat and maybe some magic, instead of trying to be this jack of all trades (master of none) games.

Right. Skyrim doesn't appeal to everyone.   Blah blah blah. Been there. Done that. Got it. The bottom line, though, is that it manages to appeal to a whole lot of people. It sold 12 million copies.  It made about 700 MILLION dollars.

Now Put on a suit and tie and ask yourself: Why in the world  would Bethesda replace a ridiculously successful formula with one that only promises them a tiny fraction of the success they've been enjoying for the past 18 years? Seriously, How much has Dark Souls sold? 2 million? less? LOL

And how much does CoD and Justin Beiber sell ?   Does that make it any good ?

Not applicable. COD and Justin Beiber aren't action RPGs. Dark Souls and Skyrim are, therefore an accurate comparison can be made between them.

The point is, just because it's popular and sells a ton, doesn't mean it's any good.

However, advocating that its creators replace its proven popular formula with one that isn't even remotely popular by comparison, is.... terrible advice.  Oh and to counter all you noisy Dark souls preachers:  just because a game hasn't enjoyed main stream success doesn't mean it's  any good either.

But I digress.  I have a better Idea: I think the guys who made Dark souls should scrap their pretentious pseudo-hardcore, "tough-for-L33t's-sake" combat for something a little more....authentically cool, and fun. Like Skyrim's. They should also think about putting more wrpg elements into the their game, and scrap the jrpg nonsense all together.

Or here's a crazy thought. How about both companies do their own thing. That way the fans win.   That IS why we're here, right?  Because  Obsidian  has promised us a game that doesn't copy what everyone else is doing today, yes?

Yes.  And it took kickstarter (a whole new model) to get us to that point, FFS.
