You think we will get a DLC that explains the origins of the Keepers

From Ashes expanded on the protheans, Leviathan expanded on the Reapers, the Keepers feel like the next step. And I just have a gut feeling they were the first race that attempted the Crucible.

And if you played Leviathan you could see leviathan was hiding something when you asked him about the crucible.

EDIT: I was basically thinking a DLC that might give them free will again

There is not enough information on the Keepers. I hope we get something even if its not a devoted DLC.

would be nice to see something along the lines of an update on the information collected on the keepers in ME1 where we have to scan the keepers on the citadel.

It would be nice to get to know more about the keepers, but I have a hard time imagining the keeper-story supporting a dlc alone.

So I think that this information would more likely be a part of another dlc.

i can make a DLC for you. The Catalyst adds a line "The keepers were the second species that reapers harvested." or the Catalyst might say, "The Keepers came from a primitive species during the first cycle that we modified to maintain the Citadel."

That is the amount of information we will probably ever get about the Keepers. IF we get anymore information at all.

I hope not. We all know how the origin of the Reapers turned out.

The keepers are the robotic helpers the Catalyst used to defeat the leviathans.

I don't see why it needs to be explained, and I hope it never is.

What story do you want to hear? How the Keepers are some useless tools of the kid? How they were the first species to take to the stars after the creator species was annihilated and the kid decided to subjugate and modify them? How they're the spies and betrayers the kid used to take over the galaxy?

Great, so now the Keepers are just as boring and lame as the Reapers.

Why would anyone want that to happen?

I would have been fine with that it was the keepers that created the crucible in the first place but were unable to complete it.

But keepers were not the ones that created the reapers

The upcoming Citadel DLC may very well be about the Keepers

I predict this "Citadel DLC" will go into the origins of the Keepers. I'll also throw out that I think they were the "similar solution in the past" the Catalyst refers to when talking about Synthesis.

Being about the Keepers is not the same as explaining the Keepers.

It would be neat to see where the Keepers are created. Where they keep their little backpacks when they're off-duty. What they eat when they're hungry.

None of that requires coming up with some trite fiction that will simply diminish their role in the setting.

As previously said. The Citadel DLC will probably give some interesting information about the keepers.
I have my doubts, though.

Uh, doesn't the Leviathan say that the Catalyst created helpers and that those helpers attacked the Leviathans without warning? It seems that the Keepers were probably those helpers.

You get an email from Chorban in ME2.  From wiki:

Scan most of the keepers and Chorban will e-mail a brief summary of his findings: the Keepers are programmed to 'wait for a signal', at which point they'll take some sort of actions, and that it is about time for that signal to arrive. Chorban states that this has happened repeatedly in the past, likening it to looking at the rings on a tree. Unfortunately, he has been unable to find anyone willing to take those findings seriously. The e-mail will be received once you've advanced enough through Mass Effect 2.

I wouldn't be suprised if Keepers build the original crucible, and catalyst changed them during harvest and made them do work around the citadel since they understood the concept very well.

I think it's definitely one of the possibilities, along with original designers of the Crucible (maybe both?)

But I don't see how explaining that they're either the first Synthesis attemp or the enslaved Crucible creators would diminish them

I thought this was about 'empty' Reapers (without the organic goo implemented yet). I mean, what could little tiny Keepers do to Leviathans?

I´d like to know more about them, but I don´t think there should be a whole DLC dedicated to them.

Wonder if some information about them can be included in some other DLC...

It's safe to assume they were just one of the countless species harvested and/or repurposed by the Reapers. They're not really relevant anymore.

Well after playing Leviathan you could guess what the keepers probably are.

They're likely the husk equivalent to one of the Leviathans' servant races, which were indoctrinated by the catalyst.

Because right now all they do is walk around and blend into the scenery, whatever DLC they might release about them can't make them anymore boring then they are now

Like some have said, I bet this Citadel DLC will explain more about them. But from what we already know, they aren't too mysterious. They are probably a race from the Leviathan era which the Catalyst either had trouble melting down to create a Reaper or thought they'd be useful workers.

I'll still give the DLC a try though. Leviathan wasn't completely what I expected, so will this probably.
