On my first play through I was kind of selfish, doing only what I thought would benefit me the most. Tough at first I was pretty good I became more and more "evil" like further in the game.

The character I am playing now is a more religious-type person and is mainly a good character.

I align with what I perceive to be justice. That may not always be what others see as good or kind, yet I fall short of bringing myself to work evil, whether in real life or in the gaming world. The very nature of evil gurantees it will eventually pooch you. Stand by justice and give it a priority over law. Do what is right, not because you expect a reward, but rather because it is the right thing to do.

This is the general forum? Okey. SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a Grey Warden and so do not really care about morality, vengenace, justice, good, evil etc.
Stopping the Blight is my first priority. The fate of the elves, the use of the anvil, the evilness of Bhelen, Howe's betrayal, all this is either irrelevant or not really a priority.

If it weren't for the Blight and the fact that Grey Wardens died at Ostagar I wouldn't even interfere in the Ferelden civil war or the Dwarven succesion crisis. The Order must remain neutral as much as possible.

(Possible spoiler)

I keep thinking about wanting to play an evil character, but the problem is I genertally feel bad about it. And also, the story itself doesn't seem to fit with me being an evil character. Why would Duncan choose you, and even the joining work, which is a product of fate(?), work if you're evil? Just a thought. The story for me fits best with an honorable, justified, human noble.

I'm heartless and pure evil. I do everything for my own selfish gain, yet I have to gain the trust of others so they will give me everything I desire...

edit: Apophis2412 can you please edit your post so it no longer breaks the forum.

I tend to have a decent amount of goodness, but occasionally if the NPC is annoying enough of the evil possibility is too interesting I will do it. I figure I'm alright to be a little cruel when I am doing so much good.

I've played a character that thought this way, and while it was fun, it didn't feel right to me.

My first and primary playthrough was as a character that felt that while the stopping the Blight was his duty, in the end how he stopped it was just as important.

Stopping the Blight isn't about some personal vendetta against the Darkspawn, it is about about protecting innocents. It's about doing everything possible to protect them while fighting off the Blight at the same time. Of course you have to be willing to do what it takes if there is no other choice between defeating the Blight and not, but if there is a way to protect people and accomplish the ultimate end result of defeating the Blight, it needs to be found.

That is a rather easy question to ask as I am good at being evil.

I usually try to be good, but screw up along the way.
I poisoned the giant shark in Kotor and killed the Sand Chieftain fellow,
kept the dam open and killed the Forest Spirit in Jade Empire
and put Vaklu on the throne in Kotor II.

Mostly good, sometimes even a paragon of virtue...there's enough evil in the world as is.

Neutral, mostly. Sometimes evil (great fun!), but I never play good.

Warning, spoilers ;)

I almost always play a very well-behaved character who will go out of his/her way to benefit everybody, even if it is slightly time consuming. The logic behind this? If a powerful character wields the ability to do good, and doesn't act on behalf of the less fortunate when opportunity arises, then that character is doing evil.

However, w/ DA:O the city elf presents a slight problem: She (mine, anyway) begins the game all excited - it's her wedding day! But then tragedy strikes :(, So at least at first, she is a very angry elf who is not quite so focused as helping others. To use the Mass Effect term, I will say my character is a Paragade ;)

There's a reason that Alistair was at 100% before the Mage Tower, Denerim, or Orzamar. Of course I gave him a rune and his mother's locket, but still.... That's a lot of choices Alistair approves of totally. ;)

I always do my first play through good and second one bad. My main preference would have to be good though. I just seem to get along better with companions when I'm not pissing them off because I made an "evil" choice. Besides I always seem to feel bad about being bad to those who don't derserve it. I also believe in mercy as well.

Many of the "evil" choices really are not evil per se--some of them are rather logical, practical decisions that a person actually in the world would be hard-pressed to avoid. An easy example would be the Anvil. The "evil" choice actually makes great pragmatic sense from the Grey Warden perspective. So does the use/support of blood magic. (why should a Warden feel constrained by Chantry dogma, so long as it does not affect the political reality of needing allies who might subscribe to it?) In a real-world situation the wardens would play the realpolitik game also.

Well I'm always good, mostly cuz of 1 reason i dont see the benefit of being Evil, as a good char. my party approves sometimes, which couses them to get buffs, which makes them stronger, and u even get rewards for being good...so it's all about what i get out of it :P

I'm "chaotic good", so I guess that should explain :) I do things in the way which is right for me, and it doesn't always match with what others think what "good" should be but I don't care. So not evil, but not "do gooder" either.
