I play with good chars mostly but one thing i like about this game is that i could create a char that behaves like me... and it ended being a ruthless and power-hungry person but very polite and mercifull in ocassions.

My male human noble is a heroic templar type.  He wants to protect those who are important to him, and won't hesitate to help those in need, as long as the request is reasonable (or the xp/loot makes it worthwhile).

I plan to make an "evil" character down the road sometime, mainly to do all of the less "heroic"  branch paths in the game, which I keep passing over to be the noble hero.

I tend to play generally good but highly self-interested characters. I generally look for the profit (not necessarily monetary) in situations, weighing the pros and cons of various actions. This, IMO, works particularly well as a DN/C or CE, where characters need a certain amount of critical observation in order to get by, for various differing reasons.

I had meant for this assassin to be my "gunslinger" anti-hero type. But she's too coercive, so she doesn't need to make choices often. hehe

Next PC is going to be a mage honked off at the Tower and Chantry. That one might very well go for a lot of the nasty choices. There's one "evil" choice that I can't justify making in game. I'd have to make not just a dark side character, but an absolute lunatic to make it.

I tend to play kind, noble characters who yet tend to have issues with certain obsessions/weaknesses of character (lust for revenge, weak self-esteem, over-active libido, shoddy leadership skills etc.), which sometimes make them do seemingly out-of-character deeds.

I played a Dalish who wanted nothing more then to return to her clan, and hated Duncan for bringing her along. Then after the whole Ostagar incident she blamed Duncan, Calian, and Loghain for damn near having her killed. However she tried getting along with Alistair, and occassionaily lied about her feelings. He turned him down she he flirted with her.

Then she went to the Dalish Camp, and became extremely good friends with the elfs there. Killed Witherfang because she thought The [Four-Letter Word] was lying. When a certain party camp event, she was horrified, and then deicided to do everything in her power to stop any feeling of sorrow within others, by fighting the Blight. She also latter fell in love with Leliana due to the song she sung after the whole Dalish skirmish.

By the end of my game, she's probably going to make Alistair and Anora [Four-Letter Word] together, and [Five-Letter Word] Loghain. And she'll be extremely weary of going out of her way to fight and help others. And upon hearing that a Warden [Three-Letter Word] after killing the Archdemon, she wants to kill him, as she sees it as a way to die and see her parents and Tamlen again, since she probably won't ever find her clan, and she's on top of that a Grey Warden, and duty bound and going to become a [Five Letter Word] anyway. :P

My first (human noble) character's personality has actually been changing over time. He started goody good father's boy. Then, after events of HN origin, turning more and more neutral due to his (often bad) decisions, until final stages of the game, when he acted as complete A**hole pragmatist.

I almost exclusively play "good" characters. Last night I killed Genitivi to keep him from opening his mouth ... and was sick to my stomach. I keep telling myself that one of these times I'm gonna play a purely wicked character, but when it comes down to it I can't seem to bring myself to do so.

I do what my companions want. If they have no say about it, I'm leaning towards evil. I do stuff that will make them like me. Morrigan, Alistair, bla bla bla. It's like friends over everything else, I guess.

Is usually play good or neutral. I like playing a Duncan style of warden, that can help you but want's something in return to aid the wardens on their journey. The goal is to stop the blight, and If I feel that one evil might bring me one step closer to ending the blight, I would not hesitate.

The game doesn't really let you be evil types i like. You can be a bully and a psychopath, but not what I consider intelligent evil. I would have loved to see a more "Palpatine" evil figure in RPGs. Not just the usual "give me your copper coins or feel my wrath" bully, or the pshycophat "I'll kill everything, and do evil deeds for fun.".

I tend to be more on the good side. Having played Baldur´s Gate excessively I could say that I´m mostly Neutral Good in the sense of Dungeons and Dragons) and with that try to get party members who are also Neutral Good or Lawful Good . No matter how hard I try I can´t seem to be selfish, evil and such.

If I were to use the DnD scale, Lawful Good. Much of the time my character agonized over doing things right, and doing the right thing. Ultimately, he tried to stay true to the creed of the Gray Wardens, which stated that stopping the Blight was the most important endeavor, no matter the cost. While he did not always like doing the things he had to do, he understood that they were necessary. Often he'd be risking quite a bit in order to do things in a moral fashion, where it might have been much simpler to just go with a less optimistic route. But then, that is the major dilemma behind a good character.

He also dated Morrigan, of course.

That is my character(s) in a nutshell.

Well, my char had 3 stages in this matter...in the first one he was a 100% righteous man, but it lasted only until that Howe bastard slaughered his family (Human Noble origin, of course). After that, although he was still sort of righteous, he became a much more "grey-evil" person, always seeking for power and revenge. It's in that stage where he became a Reaver and a Berserker.

When he managed to take his revenge, he returned to his 1st stage....sort of. The trauma he had with his family's death changed him to be more bitter than he originally was. That change lead him to kill Nathaniel Howe without any doubt or hesitation, or even asking anything at him.

Generally I play as a knight in tarnished armor in most CRPGs. There's something to be said for being a wide-eyed Paladin full of goodness - but my characters have a bit more experience and less innocence.

Often I have 'WWCOAD'* running in my head, while playing. ;) That generally works.

Call me a softie but I have real trouble trying to be evil.

When I purposefully create an evil character, usually on the n:th playthrough just to see the other side of quests, I tend to find myself cringing at the choises, and generally not enjoying the game that much. Even though they're just pixels on the screen.

I usually play a sort of a chaotic or neutral good character, sometimes a lawful one, but generally a good guy/gal. ^_^

I usually do what I think is the right thing to do. Obviously I therefore do more good than bad things, but sometimes I do "bad" things, too. For examplein the sacred ashes quest I tend to choose the evil side, and I´m rather merciless towards my enemies. Never saw a point in letting them live if they loose a battle.

I keep thinking about wanting to play an evil character, but the problem is I genertally feel bad about it. And also, the story itself doesn't seem to fit with me being an evil character. Why would Duncan choose you, and even the joining work, which is a product of fate(?), work if you're evil? Just a thought. The story for me fits best with an honorable, justified, human noble.

i agree with that this story fits with a human noble, but if there was a human commoner, maybe he would fit in even better...Image IPB
