Well, speaking of graduate school and doctorate degrees and such...if ME were a dissertation and someone came forward with this, ME's resultant doctorate would likely be revoked by their university and they would be shunned by their profession's community. To me, this is cut an dry plagiarism. Wow.

As a UCSD literature student/graduate.

Yep.

Laughed when I read this at Star Control 2's Wiki:

"At the end of the game, it is revealed that this is all a retelling from the player to his grandchildren."

Ignorance must be realy blissful for you especially when the Stargazer scene is a nod to the Princess Bride, which happened to be a movie released in 1987.  Btw story telling epilogues is nothing new in RPGs.

Stargazer equals Princess Bride.

FACT.

Must be.  Blueprotoss said it.

...It's funny, because I thought using Buzz Aldrin, one of the first men into space, to summarise the theme of humanity's inclination toward mythmaking was a means of colliding our future explorations with the recursive history of storytelling...

But okay, Princess Bride it is.

Insults are useless just like nippiking on what something borrows from another.  Originality on the level of 100% hasn't really existed for a long time like how most of the sci-fi ideas were tapped out in the 70s and 80s.

But you were the one nitpicking where the image was borrowed from...  You were the one insulting someone else for their reading of a reference (you even mocked them as 'ignorant')...

You are very curious figure, Blueprotoss.  I've still not quite figured out if you are genuinely unaware of how ironic your statements are, or if you are one of the most comedic posters I have ever read.  I really hope it's the latter.

Ironically I haven't been nippicking at al even when everything can be lableled as copying like how Star Trek borrowed from Flash Gordon.

Yet the irony belongs to you since ad homenims tell us that you're not interested in this topic.
