Why does it have to be gender exclusive? Why cant it be open to both?

I work at an animation studio, where a good forty percent of our employees our women. As such, a lot of our animation is extremely unique and different compared to stuff we see from mostly-male teams, because there is a more diverse group of people who are communicating and getting the work done differently. There's a lot of ideas that aren't being addressed in companies simply because there are few opinions that are female or non-white. These backgrounds are important, and create unique valuable products that more people can embrace.

I don't believe in an all-girl team. I believe in all-everyone teams.

Anyways, I really have to go. This isn't my comp, so ciao.

Yeah also missing the point that those with the qualities that are actually required to develop a game or have any interest in doing so are usually, you guessed it. White and Male. It's not a universal truth, but it hold true in general. So hire more....where are they? They are the minority in the prospective employee pool, you can't hire more when there aren't more to begin with.

Improving standards is great, right up until it runs into the practical point of the people you are hiring to "diversify" the industry don't know crap about how to develop a game, or software or program, or hardware or anything else related to it for instance. When you find them great, if they don't have the skill sets then you're a pillock for hiring them. Frankly I wouldn't hire me to develop a game. I know nothing about it.

No it doesn't make sense for a marketing point of view. What's the line "a game developed by women for women" I think that's going to fail miserably. As I'm fairly sure most women don't care who it's developed by as long as it's good.

Having a legal education, In companies social responsibility is not big on the list of legal department agendas you know.

I don't get it. I find the attacks, insults, and disrespect very strange on BSN. Sometimes you have fun forum posts where people can just talk about stuff, and then these things come along where you realize there are a lot of people in BSN who feel strongly about insulting and cutting out a lot of people from their community because they have opinions that might be different from their own.

The only reason I checked into this article was because I noticed someone post it on Tumblr.

Projecting your own issues much, who said feminists were evil? Me being a jerk or an arse it's not gender specific, it's silly idea specific.

Irrelevant (best employees and what skills and ideas they bring to the developer is all that matters, gender is irrelevant to this.)

Irrelevant (a good concept, well developed and excecuted, with a fresh ideas and settings is all that matters. I don't see how shoe horning in people with no specific skill set, attraction to developing or talents regarding the industry would help.)

Civil is fine I'm pointing out some very odd, largely unsubstantiated, utterly impractical and unrealistic concepts he's put forth. Bluntly I'll give you that, but I've chosen not to mince my words, as I think this farce of a tangent has gone on for quite long enough and is starting to grate on my nerves.

I also have quite a few friends who are women, who jump in and play with me when I get the time and I'll call anyone out who is rude to them undeservingly and give them a mouthfull. I'm one of the nicer ones. I'll emphasis this for you. My points are right on the mark, by the look of your reply. My posts of this kind are specific to dumb or daft posts, not gender specific, so whatever agenda you are trying to push, give up it doesn't work.
