Don't know if this belongs here or in the cutscene forum... anyway:

I want to replace a sound played during an existing single-player cutscene with a sound of my own. I know how to create an FMOD project from scratch using FMOD designer, import audio, create an event to play it, and export the .fev and .fsb files.

But I can't make the new sounds appear in the toolset sound list. I have put both the FMOD project folder and the .fev and .fsb files into [local path]/packages/core/override and tried both Refresh and Refresh Override with no success.

The wiki says that:

Any sound that you create events for and build to the .fev/.fsb files is available for use in the area editor. The area editor will see these sounds and make them available when the editor is opened or when the “Refresh F5” option is selected from the menu.

This just doesn't happen here. What am i missing?

Any help will be appreciated, thanks!

I thought it would be useful to link to a tutorial that's supposed to answer my question: http://social.biowar...ic_to_cutscenes (thanks, JackFuzz!).
I followed all the steps described there but my sound still doesn't appear in the toolset sound palette. I know people have succeeded in doing this, so I can only conclude I'm still doing something wrong. If anyone had a similar problem and learned how to solve it, I'd be very grateful...

I figured it out... Kind of a giant facepalm, really. I have a current version of FMOD installed, and I've been using it and drowning in frustration. This can only be done with the version of FMOD supplied with the toolset, apparently. And not only this... anything to do with exporting fev/fsb files.

Jesus, the hours I lost...

Well, at least this has a happy end.
