what is the point of skill distribution if it's a no brainer?

So, people who can already extract on Platinum have their characters improved, and those who can't don't? Seems a little backward to me.


Backwards that is exactly what COD is... The players who are doing well get awarded killstreaks to help them get more kills on those who are obviously struggling... like a chopper that lets them spawn kill the other team so they die 8 times in a row and can't do anything about it... that sounds fair and balanced right?    Yeah we need to make this game more like that...

If you're looking for more challenge or an enhanced game mode, I'd much rather see something like "Hero Mode" (where your character maxes out at, say, level 15) than the horrible, horrible idea in the OP.

We already have COD-style prestige levels. It's called N7, and it's just as meaningless as COD prestige. It's just a measure (and a poor one at that) of how many hours you've sunk into the game.

etc... I think it would be best to offer credit rewards for completing them instead of exp though, cause most people would probably already be level 20 so exp would be usless.

 

Krabs above ^^ had some nice ideas, but they'd need to be really carefully implemented to avoid the already-limited teamplay falling apart even further as everybody hunts challenges on their own.

Please God no. I would give my right testicle to have this idea NOT happen. I would however support a real reward for promoting like a token that when enough are earned could be redeemed for a random UR.

Everyone who says, "Go back to CoD," please take a second to consider that prestige and promotion boil down to the similar things.

That said, what you're proposing has NOTHING to do with "Prestige." You submit that players should be able to max out all five trees. You suggest that players who already play Platinum would be the ones to get the additional talent points, even though this demographic needs the additional power least of all players still involved with this franchise.

If you choose the correct consumables, you can almost do what you're suggesting anyway. If you take your passives both to rank 4, and if you throw a Stronghold Package, Power Amplifier Module, and weapon amp on, then you basically have all five trees at maximum spec.

But, but, we want to have crazy "have-to-think" builds, and from what you're pointing out we have consumables to do what you're saying... so we don't even need Prestige. You kinda lost your point.
