I would say that only banshee sync kills need fixing. Even as a host the magnet grabs are ridiculous.

Use other powers/guns and don't ask for something that would hugely imbalance the game...and you can BC, just not something so big it can knock your block off.
Kinda basic stuff there...big thing = probably more powerful than you - would you charge a tank in BF with an ATV (with no C4 on)?  No because it is ****ing stupid.  Do you BC a Banshee from the front on full health?  No, because it is ****ing stupid.

I play Novaguard and Slayer mostly and I have no problems....not Platinum material I know, but it does get you by upto (and Inc.) Gold.

My only frustration are magna grabs, and medigeling only to get insta killed. Off host behavior is weird at times too, Something that I think can be mitigated by not allowing sync kills if you still have shields left.

Just have them melee more like primes and an atlas do. They could shoot their warp ball or whatever more often; just take out some of the homing. That's how they kill me and my friends the most right now anyway.

For the people saying it would make the game too easy, they could just give the brutes more health/speed and increase the stats for other enemies to make up for the slack. Really, fighting a brute is way more fun than a banshee anyway IMO.

Quoted for truth.  Phantom pew-pew is already way overpowered and can snipe you better than a Nemesis.  Banshees are just ridiculous - getting pulled 20 feet as host and then impaled is not challenging, it's un-needed frustration in a game already full of bugs.

An easy fix is to require both Banshees and Phantoms (who can melee the air right now then instakill you) to make contact with you on a melee first.  If they attempt a second melee and it hits the same player, then it could instakill.  This would be an effective way of removing the stupidity, allow vanguards to do their job on Gold/Platinum, and still prevent players from standing in their melee-range for any length of time.

but only if they compensate those units with something to make up for the loss of the sync kill. Especially the Banshee.

They do it's called stunlock. rocket troopers/hunters/primes are all capable of it.

I agree it would be funny if primes could grab and disengrate you or something.  That would fix the fbw and fbg farming games.  The only thing I dont like is banshees magnet hands.  I have been magnet handed while hosting its just not as common.  Phantoms can be avoided  if your smart and they are the only thing that gives cerberus a chance to win in gold. They should make it so you cant be instakilled for 5 seconds after using a gel or  have been been revived.  That would fix my main issue.  Gelling only to instanly be killed when you are soloing or the last one alive is lame.

Its not the same since you can be revived or gel and aren't  a spectator for the rest of the wave.

Nah, it adds an unpredictable element to games. Even if you're the most highly skilled player on the planet, you're still susceptible to sync-kills.

Also, phantoms have gotten sneakier lately. In two matches, I've come around a corner to be stabbed through the chest. I know for a famned dact they did not melee beforehand. Unless they were just practicing behind the wall.

Yes. It's a completely moronic mechanic that also disrupts game balance by taking away high-heath/low-agility classes's alleged advantage of durability.

I want to say yes, but then it would make the game extremely easy knowing that they only way to fail a mission is to have your whole team bleed out. That's the reason why geth are farmed. They're the hardest faction, in my opinion and that of many others, but they don't have sync kills so you basically can't fail unless you let yourself fail.

Short answer, no, but there should be some kind of actual warning like a different animation.

As of right now all enemies that can sync kill, except the Banshee, have to melee first in order to sync kill, but that melee attack can be directed towards anyone, so a Phantom can melee your teammate and then stab you in the chest if you walk around the corner. That's BS, but the Banshee is the worst because she can grab you at any time.

Something to warn us when an enemy is going to sync kill, that's all I ask.
