Magnet hands need to go, but I'm fine with the Phantom's instakill. Especially when one decloaks right next to you. Keeps 'em scary, and I like that.

It's like the cougars in Red Dead Redemption - no matter how great your guns are, seeing those bastards running at you or hearing that "Rwrroooowwwrrr!" = squeaky bum time.

i think they should make it so if you are insta killed you are removed from the match
like you are dead and that is the end and you lose all XP and credits earned
it would reduce the amount of Insta kills because everyone would stay away from them and play smarter and work together ... it doesn't make sense to me that if you are KILLED you just get up the next wave that is dumb same thing with bleeding out or executed once you are knocked down

That, and the fact that they two hit kill, knock you down when they hit, and come at the worst possible time.

Yup, that too. Keep Phantoms dangerous, I say!  Keeps me on my toes, or possibly on the ground going "can somebody stuff my intestines back in please?"

When you can predict an instakill and avoid it, then it's prefectly fine. For example for Brutes and Atlases you need to stand infront of them for a while for them to trigger it, so you can avoid it by not staying in their face. For Phantoms, they need to get a few sword slashes in before they can stab you. That's fine too, once you get hit, you need to roll away to avoid it. BUT the Banshees have no rule on their instakill. You just need to be close to them (or in most cases 10 meters away since they can just magically pull you) and they'll do the instant kill animation immediately. There's nothing you can do for it, it's just purely luck based. I think that banshees should have some kind of a melee grab animation and if that would connect with the player, they would be grabbed. It would be more fair so the player can actually see when the Banshee tries to grab you so they can try to avoid it.

They only need one that not even has to connect the player, just the air. Saw them doing exactly this when i was in the Biotic Charge animation. Cheap and cheesy.

Keep them, just remove the magnet hands.
Or add a quick time event that won't stop the insta-kill, but buy time for your squad to help you, and if they don't help you in time, then you get killed.

I don't know if this is true but I believe "magnet hands" is an instant kill you haven't had yet. The Banshee never pulls you in out of the blue, it may feel that way, but there is always some point where she was dangerously close to you before such an event occured. The reason you didn't die earlier is probably the result of lag. The cold hard fact is, she got you. It happens to all of us.

What I would prefer is to have the Banshee melee you first like all the others. Sometimes it's just not funny to have her come out of nowhere, through a solid wall and take you out. You can't combat that, so it is cheap.

She's a pain for predicting your movements and cutting you off too. But that's part of the experience, you can't take that away. Your not suppose to like dying and you should fear her.

This thread is still going?

Just leave the insta-kills in. It's part of the balance. Yeah, annoying, but this isn't Smurf Effect 3... well, except for the blue Asari, but that's beside the point.
