I recieved an email today that my origin email address had been successfully changed. Sure enough I can't log in to origin. How do I get to the origin live chat since I can't log in? I need help please!

That says log in with username and password, not e-mail. You might be able to get onto support from there. Good luck (and let us know the outcome)

I got my account back yes!!! I must say I was more than a little worried after reading all the horror stories about EA support. My case actually almost ended up being another one of those stories but my advisor was just awesome.
Here is what I found out and it does concern me like it should concern everyone who uses Origin. My account was hacked by someone in Russia which didn't sound like it was a surprise at all. I asked how it was done, not to know the dirty details but to know if I had done something wrong on my end so I could fix it. While he couldn't tell me those details for reasons I understand, it was made clear to me that it wasn't anything I did and this is a KNOWN ISSUE. That is right it has happened before and will happen again until EA can figure out how to fix the issue. Odd how our accounts are at risk yet we get no word about it or how to better protect ourselfs (unless that intel is out there and I just keep missing it which for anyone who knows me wouldn't be surprised at all).
Another problem I had getting my account back is proving who I was and that it was indeed my account. I thought having the game register code for ME3 would be enough plus knowing all my personal info. Turns out the code is not used for reasons I truly don't understand. Personal info wouldn't have been a problem unless you do what I did. Turns out my origin account is linked to this forums account and when I made this account I didn't put in my actual birthday. This is a bad habbit I have which really started when I have to "prove" my age to watch movie and game trailers. I always just random pick day month year just to get past that part. Well this almost came back to haunt me today. I was lucky and have learned a lesson to be sure.
I still am not sure how to avoid having this happen again. I will be changing my email address and coming up with an even harder to crack password but other than that I don't know what else can be done since I don't know how this happened in the first place. I would suggest to everyone to do the same if possible. I would not wish this upon anyone. Anyways here is one EA support post that is nothing but positive. If I could buy my advisor a beer or 6 I would in a heart beat.
