Like others in this thread, I question why they are casting votes now before the year is up. Borderlands 2 is only 3 days away for Christ's sake. Wait until December before making a list of nominees.

Let me explain why Tuchanka isn't overrated.

It wrapped up a series long subplot. It wrapped up the story arch for Wrex, Wreav, and Mordin. It did all this all the while remembering your choices going back as far as ME1. It did this without contradicting your choices. It did this without countradicting the lore. It did all this without one moment of weirdness.

It was a solidly well done aspect of the game. No where else in the game can all this be said. The closest is Rannoch but there's some weirdness in that. Largely the weirdness is focused on a few things:

-Wait, Reaper code makes geth sapient? I thought geth already were sapient.
-Wait, why does Legion have to die? He can't copy the information? Wait, don't geth share memories anyway so his code is already part of the geth collective? 
- Wait, why are they now 'true AIs' when earlier in the series people would say things like 'It's a VI not a true AI like the geth.'

So it's the most well done, choice based, consquence heavy part of the game. It's a clear victor for best section of ME3.

I didn't vote one thing to ME3. I tended to go Spec Ops: The Line, Arkham City, and Skyrim heavy.

Voted for Mass Effect 3 where ever i could Skyrim is riddled with childhood diseases and character have the same voice,Diablo 3 is just a Torchlight/wow copy and a huge dissapointment the entire game is a DRM, Dark souls' got terrible gameplay,the rest i haven't played/don't care.
Mass Effect 3 has great gameplay,solid story,well written characters, touching and memorable moments.

ME3 isnt an RPG and winning that insults the genre completely....

Game of the year games dont recieve the backlash ME3 has and continues to do so, and personaly i thought it was mediocre at best

I agree with the moment one tho as tutchunka was epic

Apparently the period under review is not the year 2012, it's 'some point in 2011 to corresponding point in 2012'. That's why they have Skyrim, which was released in November, against ME3 etc.

Then maybe they should rename the category? Seems asinine to not include the other games to come out this year. It's not even November yet, which is when the bigh holiday AAA titles hit.

ME3 did not get my vote in any category. Not out of spite, just because each category had a better choice. Best RPG...Dragon's Dogma hands down. It actually is an RPG.

I might have voted for best moment if they had the new refuse-ending to vote. That moment after Shepard talked to catalyst, catalyst says so be it and cycle continues. Shepard just stands there watching how the reapers destroy the remains of the fleet and then the crucible beam turns off. That moment was quite perfect when I first saw it in game

I'm sorry, but I just can't vote for ME3 as the "best" of either of those. Maybe best letdown.

Still. The Tuchanka choice DOES deserve the vote at the very least.

Obviously this is all opinion, but wow, that cracked me up, especially the suggestion that Diablo 3 was a Torchlight clone, and that ME3 has a 'solid story'.

Anyway, just clicked on the best RPG category, and after getting over my initial shock that ME3 is in this category, I went one along to the right to see what candidates there were. ME3 has no chance. 

Same with GOTY, and it realistically only has a chance in best moment. Still has some competition though. Voted for it in that because Tuchanka genuinely deserves it.

I f*ing said when BioWare was pushing heavily for the "Most Anticipated Game" award that it was a foolish thing to do and I'd much rather vote for it for GOTY.

They are reaping what they have sewn. ME3 isn't a GOTY candidate purely for the fact that it has so many gameplay, import and system flaws. Nevermind personal opinions on the plot or story.
