ever stop to think maybe bioware got ahead of themselves and maybe the current gen systems are indeed limited in what they intended on doing?

you cant expect anybody to hang on to every promise they make and besides its immpossible

or maybe it would take more than 2 years of development to do all of that, which is why EA gets most of the blame

so you expect a game to be delayed for longer than its intended to be/ its bad enough people complain me2 and me3 were 2 discs and i think alot of fans would be p.oed if they had to wait longer

i also think ea would hate the idea of investing even more money to market a game 3 years later. thats what alot of people dont understand

Right so in short, why release a better quality game 3 years later, when we can release an unfinished product in 2 and make money quicker?

Tazz, seriously, just let it go. It's not becoming of you.

Every single word you've typed up to this point only demonstrates a lack of tact in an otherwise productive debate. By now, you've managed to disintegrate the thread into bits and pieces. I hope you're proud of yourself, because I promise you neither Mike Gamble nor BioWare are.

@GambleMike hey mike thanks for the dlc man. F the haters because there all conspiracy theorists with no ideology on how stuff works

You came off very pretentious. As if you have any "ideology" on how stuff works. Gimme a break.

like i said these butt hurt fans dont realize its a game and whats so wrong for enjoying it as a game in the first place?

im seriously starting to hate todays gen of gamers because they can be nasty and you never saw this in the sega/nintendo days

ME3 maybe be a game but Mass Effect is a franchise, and these "butt hurt fans" as you call us are upset about how they ended Shepards story arc of that Franchise

If not the franchise as a whole; it's happened before with formerly successful franchises that had sequels which were "dumbed down" to appeal to a newer, wider audience - it's been known to kill them dead. Just within the past couple of years there's been the Red Faction and Prototype franchises; hell, The Command and Conquer franchise lasted over a decade; it's last installment was a flop (now, if only I could remember who published that last one...).

The only way I see them even potentially salvaging the franchise in general is to atleast attempt trying to bring the third installment up to the standard we expected, to try and uphold atleast some of the promises they previously broke pre-release. Otherwise, I think a lot of former customers will treat any further pre-release hype as being incredibly suspect - and rightly so.

Bioware has told us since 2007 that our choices would matter and would have an impact on how the story ends. We were suppose to have all kinds of different endings. I spent the next 5 years since then, devoting myself to the franchise and doing 100% completion walkthroughs, just so i can get that happy ending. I don't think it was too much to ask.

ever stop to think maybe bioware got ahead of themselves and maybe the current gen systems are indeed limited in what they intended on doing?

So you're saying giving the fans a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy would've surpassed the limits of the Xbox 360 and the PS3?

no im saying regardless how this wouldve been  handled your going to have some form of group be making dumb comments because of w/e reason

the truth is no game of any sorts is ever perfect in my eyes but alot of gamers dont act out about the most childish things either

I know what you're saying, Arppis, but it's hard. It's really hard.

I understand them. I try to keep that anger I have about the endings in check, but it just bubbles over when I read something about Bioware, especially when or how they interact with fans.

They can't spit on their fanbase and then expect their fans to sing them praises. They cannot, should not, expect any more than vitriol at this point. If they want to push the content as a money-making vehicle, hey, I understand. But they can't expect us to love them for it, when they've done nothing but shovel us ... well, you know what I'm saying.

I'm still trying to get a grip on that anger. I'm usually pretty open-minded and non-partisan. <Sighs>

I guess it's impossible to be this angry about something you don't have passion for. I wholeheartedly admit it, I love Mass Effect. But I despise the endings for ME3, and I hate Bioware for their EC and flat out saying no further changes to the endings -- when they haven't changed the endings yet. There I go again. Sorry. :-/

Thank you. Saved me having to post.

the PS3 can hold LA Noire on one disc, if Bioware really did have one more year both the SP and MP would have been bigger and sure the Xbox would have more disc but so what

what gives you the idea it would have been better? lets say if it came out in 2013 or 2014 instead of this year. that opens a door to the idea of adding more to the multiplayer feature

just because a game is in development for so long dosent mean they will focus souly on the single player story and i can tell everyone has forgoten about the mp component

hell i can argue that fable was in development for 7 years and it wasnt cut out what it was hyped to be

Yes you're always gonna have some people who won't like what you did. But what happened back in March was not that same thing. What happened was an unbelievable disaster for Bioware and the fans. That was a legit screw up on their part, and everybody was weighing in on it. Even other game developers and literary writers were taking pot shots at Bioware. They were the laughing stock of the VG industry that month.

Well, when you pour more time and resources into a project, logic dictates that it would reasonably stand to be improved.

Your Fable analogy is also bad. ME3 didn't have to be completely redone for a new console generation.

Sometimes I get the feeling certain forum users do nothing but search every thread and every post made in the last six months, pick the very worst ones from among them and repost these threads and posts, for whatever reason.

no pity for gamble. they refuse to acknowledge the fact that they lied about alot of different things during the marketing phase of me3 and they are still refusing to give the people who are disappointed with me3 any credibility. so if he is tired of people sending him mean tweets maybe customers are tired of the way bioware handles criticism. or maybe they just realize the damage ea is doing to bioware and its upsetting to them.

I guarentee they would've worked mostly on the SP. Bioware has flat out said there were things they wanted to do with SP that they didn't have time on. If they had another year, Levithan, From Ashes and the EC quality endings would've been included. We also would've had more polished missions/character relationships, including a much better Priority Mission Earth.

This is so true. Take Mike's comment for instance, "Do you have any idea..." No we don't have any idea, because the only thing we've been shown is Leviathan, information that should have been in game from the beginning

I haven't played Leviathan. Do you feel there is information in there that is essential to the plot of the game?

As far as i am concerned the Leviathan dlc is essential to ME3 and should have been included in the original game but i think you should play the dlc and decide for yourself.

Unless you're Michael Gamble or the guy who discussed with him on Twitter, he isn't referring to you.
You know, this thread used to be about something different.
