So, gold on xbox... are 90% of the population of this game useless?

To be honest all of the best 360 players ended up in Team AreleX, most of which have stopped caring about the game and are ready to move on to BL2.
well..- that's just dandy, looking forward to bl2 myself, but i haven't stopped playing me3
Well I like to mix it up with all difficulties.
Bronze for when I want to feel like a God.
Silver when I PuG.
Gold when atleast 2 other friends are online and playing.
Plat. Only with one group of friends.
Edit: I'm not a fan of plat really, I love playing against all the factions at once, but having all bosses just makes it a grind...
Give me the option to play against all factions on any difficulty and I'd never play anything else...
I know, platinum isn't really that hard more than it is a waste of time if you ask me, you just spend ages playing conservativley and get a little bit more cash by the and of the game than you do on gold.

Team Arelex isn't the *only* place to find good players. Just sayin'.

If you ready up in a lobby where everyone has single digit character levels or rank 1 uncommons, then you knew what you signed up for. Very rarely do I come across people who are just randomly "bad", but it does happen (i.e. everyone dead on Wave 1 or everyone bleeds out in Wave 3).

I bet my left nut that I can ask the same amount of people that you have members, who are good players, if they even know what an arelex is or BSN for that matter. Hell, I've played this game for months and I think I ran into two people who post on here. When I mention I read this or that on BSN, they go "what forum"
Yes OP. I'm in the 90% of the useless Xbox players. If you mean by useless that I enjoy the game for what it is, don't post videos of my heroic exploits or claim I top the boards every match but still somehow run gold and platinum pugs fairly successfully and take my credits and run. That and I like to post on here denigrating the youthful naïveté that to succeed in life, one must rule at video games.

This "useless" word is being thrown around a lot.
Seriously, it's getting ridiculous.
I find it hard pressed to call someone "useless" even if they're objectively bad players. They still have a use. They have missiles, they can revive, etc. Just because they are at the very bottom of the score doesn't mean that they contributed nothing to the match.
The useless players are the ones who don't get at least some sort of assist medal or revive medal. They are useless but I don't see that often.
"Shooooot... this banshee won't get off my back... oh look, that squadmate is down up ahead... I'll revive him. While she's synckilling him, I'll put some distance between me and her, then work on killing her!" (Notice the lack of the thoughts: "Will he mind?" "He won't mind," and "I'll ask him if he minds being a distraction," along with the absence of the actual asking if the squadmate minds.

I'm an AreleX, and I agree that goosh's post is rather useless. I also mostly agree with what you said, your average player (the majority) doesn't know anything about BSN or us. I'll be having that left nut, if you're offering.
Having said that, if any Xbox players are looking for good games with friendly people, you're more than welcome to join our group. Members still play, and many would be happy to help any of you out or give you some games.

Having fun is what i do, there is a difference. I would like to play with good players so i don't have to play G.I. Legion and krogan manguard all day long: You're not useless anyway if you can pug succesfully. What i mean by useless players, are the guys that rush in no care in the world and die because they get sync killed by the banshee they are trying to melee

people on xbox mostly stick together to avoid this problem, that and with platinum and the player base dwindling im sure it is hard finding people. i know the other night i was in a match and had 240k on a wave 10 wipe without getting the credits and the closest was around 30k and the two others had less than 20k, so i know your pain
That happens a bit to often...

I made it a point to become proficient in every class so I could better pug. Its funny how many pugs I go into as an adept, and people wont ready up because they want to be an adept. I just leave.
I dont believe in playing with friends or teams because that leads to boredom. A couple of randoms, along with a bud or two, cool. This game is infinitely easier to play with friends. I run 4 accounts on my Family Gold plan at different levels, just so I keep things interesting and fun. Nothing like taking out the ol Phalanx or a Tempest to kill stuff.
Spawn control is for sissies.

I only play silver matches because I know I'd be a liability on gold and i refuse to drag the entire team down.
Even when other players in the match try to convince me to play gold with them, I rarely do, untill they completely understand that I suck at it. If they can live with that fact, then i guess I can play with them on gold, and sometimes I surprise myself by doing well. If I have maybe a high level shadow, or Krogan Vanguard

Gold difficulty is HARD, people. If you can't play Silver easily you have no business playing on Gold. That fact seems to fly over the heads of many, many players as they seek more and more credits to buy stuff in the RNG store system. I believe that is the primary reason so many unseasoned players keep playing Gold matches.
There have been a few times where I've been able to team up with some really good players on Gold difficulty in Public Game Lobbies. But, those instances are few an far between.
