Hmmm, interesting, I saw this picture earlier today, and indeed this is SP DLC, but no doubt we will see collectors in MP as well, hell one day we might even see protheans.

yup yup as always OneTrueSHot was on to something

Collector stuff was setup well before onetrueshot ever said anything about it.

The problem is that all the "evidence" for Collectors is circumstantial and relies upon a flawed assumption from the reading. The description given makes it pretty clear that it is referring to Seekers ("The Reapers did not understand the seriousness of the threat at
first--those that detected the landing crafts sent husks and Collector
swarms to intercept them, but little more."), as dispatching actual Collectors would have been taking the threat seriously given that any surviving Collectors are likely being husbanded for reserves or rear echelon duty.

The simple fact of the matter is that the Miracle at Palaven entry is latched onto by people to justify their want of Collectors, like the "Phoenix" title was for the Prothean fans.

Who said that the collectors only have one base? For all we know, they could have outposts anywhere far removed from anywhere in the Terminus Systems.

Which still does not make them feasible for a full-scale faction.

The Collectors were not that numerous to begin with, otherwise they would not have been using Husks, Seeker Swarms, and the various other Reaperized helpers.

...Or maybe they were using husks, seeker swarms, praetorians, etc. because they'd rather use up stuff they get for free than the bros in their club.

And yet, they still sent their bros out there.

The Collectors are a study in bad tactics.

Still, if the Reapers have only ten thousand collectors, that's still plenty enough for them to allocate for strike missions or whatever.

<grumble> Guys, if there's one thing we should've learned from the immense amount of analyzing put into the breath scene with no decision reached on its location, it's that we've got to accept when a picture is too vague to draw conclusions from.

Some things to note,

  • We've always failed an operation before a new Multplayer DLC
  • There has been word of a September announcement of new DLC
  • Admiral Hacket states that the Reapers have a plan and as we know from ME2, Collectors are under Reaper control ( the created them )

I agree with Note one, but... not seen anything about Note two. Nothing to say about the last. That's a given.
Note one is definately a trend.

Priestley stated that we would have a MP DLC before the end of September, but that it would not be on the same schedule as the other MP DLCs had(the "49 Day" bit).

And Collectors are not a given as their own faction.

Everybody say that, but nobody can post a proof link.

There are no doubts there'll be Collector DLC. But I'm sure the picture isn't an evidence of Collectors. At least I don't think so.

Because it was not posted, but rather stated at an event.

I don't know. That photo looks more like an Alliance Dreadnaught to me instead of a Collector Cruiser.

So unless the OP of that photo is willing to clarify....

Priestly tweet was almost immediately removed and he himself denied there's any certainty of a september DLC.

The point is that he said something like this: "A dev cannot say in which month a DLC will be released", like if it was someone else that tweeted the information; but we know that the "dev" was him, so could be that plans have changed and there will be no DLC on september, or simply he's trying to confuse us after his mistake.

Note one is false though.  The only failed operation that came directly before a DLC was Broadside.  Silencer was two weeks before Rebellion, and Shieldwall directly preceded Rebellion.

Conditional and exceptional statements typically don't look very good when you're trying to back something.  I would suggest simply removing the update.

Back! Bored! Time for more speculating!

"inconsistent with our knowledge of Reaper ground troop movement."

If any one thing points to a new faction it's this. Though that is up for how you translate it--it could just mean they are using unconventional tactics that go against the grain of what is expected. I have to admit, the more I squint at that blurry photo the more I see a collector ship.
