Now that ME3 is gone from my game pile (which is small, I admit), I make the time to go back to ME2 (which is a new fave kind of on par with the clunky ME1 which I will aways love but is hard to love to the same degree since ME2 looks better, plays better and has a better normandy). Anyway, I'm taking the time to explore all the conversations as far as they go. Finding that mordin sings gilbert and sullivan is probably the best one of all.
As for romances for my femshep, they were totally lame. I tried garrus and thane and both ended totally anticlimactic (not even being literal here). They were more like non-romance endings and just comfort to each other and not even played well. I wonder if that was done because Liara and Ash or Kaiden would return in ME3 so there was no reason to give them a decent romance. Thane's was the worst of both garrus and thane. It's completely lame. Next play through I'll stick with garrus because at least there's a bit more to it if you go back in after the mission. Nothing like that with thane. Gotta wonder what they were thinking when the did those romances... putting them off in development mostly till after loyalty missions then a few short coversations that are entirely lame only to end so anticlimacticly? It's like they are pushing you to go for the virmire survivor or laira by giving you nothing really good to push forward with from ME2. Anyone else find that to be the case? Plus, in ME3 the virmire survivor is shoved in your face with all their issues right off the bat. I had kaidan and between mars conversations and horizon, I wanted to tear into him that he has no right to even question me after I saved all the human colonists by blowing up the collector base and oh yeah, stopped the first invasion of sovereign/saren/reapers with his pushing me toward doing the ilos run which was no different than teaming up with cerberus if your agenda is to get the job done. ME3 was horrible in that respect. And then I have to win him back? In what universe? I played along because romance wise it was the best one, but in the end, Kaidan needed to apologize to my shep and needed to shut up and get over whatever his issue was and stop being a ****. In ME1, he was so much bolder. In ME2, a jerk. In ME3, so pathetic that he completely dismissed that shep destroyed the base and saved the rest of the colonists from that horrible fate. Now that is a huge problem in ME3. Turning the virmire survivor into a tool when shep actually stopped the collectors. Gah!
Mordin sings! And what about romance in general?
