 I usually lvl up on silver but i have on occasion been put straight into GOLD with out going into to lobby so depending on what class/kit and bonus items i dont stand much chance of surviving. I will quit if am doing realy bad, if i dont i usually get vote kick if we fail, but i blame the server for sticking me in gold and not a silver.

Need to see some youtube videos of these people level 1'ing Gold. Want to see the type of people they're playing with and how they do too. Has anyone done no gear, Avenger & Pred/common weapons only, level 1, Gold yet?

So that doesn't really mean much without actaully knowing the details, I bet they joined in at wave 7 (bottom 2 at least) and the 2nd did as well as the top and probably a newish player with no gear and a tempest, which is much more likely.... I'd still kick a sub level 15 generally.. and definitely a 1 unless they have all their kit and gear on and good maxed weapons.

Anyway.. Why bother doing gold level 1. Pretty dumb.. if you are promoting to get N7 a lot you should be be buying packs after promoting so they level your characters for you.

I understand platinum, but gold........ No. In gold you are not hard pressed for shields. As long as you run around and shoot from the sides it is easy. Gold with level one is like platinum with anything. As long as you're putting out enough DPS and watching your back routes you will be fine. And your shields won't drop like the sky is falling. But I guess level ones can't put out much DPS. So they stick to the sides?

HarHarHar lv 1 guys on gold and plat. These Guys are KICK ON SIGHT in my games. Now before you start foaming at the mouth, yes..

i do know you can "handle" yourself,
i do know you have got good gear and weapons,
i also know you outscore crappy random players,(99% of the playerbase)
and sure, you put down a respectable score, more then the average amount of crappy lv 20's.

I'll still kick you though, for a very simple reason. No matter how much ass you kick with your lv 1 salarian engineer, you would be kicking far more ass with a level 20 one. It is that simple, on gold and plat i always play my characters to maximum performance with equips and weaps. I expect the same of my teammates random or not. The fun for me comes into clearing these matches as fast and hard as possible, you won't contribute as much with a lv 1 then you would with a lv 20 of the same character, no matter what you claim.

The results have been the same whether they were carrying good weapons and equipments or not. (At least for the people I saw)
So, be patient and level up your character a bit by playing on bronze and silver first, please.

When I saw the topic title, I thought for sure this topic was about me as I recently promoted all my classes and have been running level 1s in Gold.  But then I read the bolded part and realized it wasn't about me because if it was you'd have said, "But as soon as the match starts he blows my mind by doubling everyone's score with nothing but a Paladin V!" or even, "But as soon as the match starts I thought he was going to start dying right away but his Krogan Soldier was just headbutting skulls and blasting faces with a Claymore. Never seen anything like it before!"

They started on wave 1 just like me or the time would be longer, the answer is: I had a long range GPS they had pirahna's.

I think no matter how experienced a player is... they shouldn't play level 1 on gold (unless it's with only friends).

I'd rather play with a level 1 person who knows what they're doing and uses adequate gear/equipment to make their character more viable on gold than a level 20 person who brings no gear into gold and then refuses to use their medigels or missiles! As for dying, it happens but that's why we are a team playing a cooperative game. Stick together and all will be well.

I admit I would initially agree but really, Level X guns and pumped up equipment can balance out to make a solid member of a team.

Even had a friend the other night "call it night" because I was about to use a L1 Krogan Sentinel on Gold.  Only been playing with them for a couple weeks and I was really surprised by the butthurt.

Not necessarily, cos 2 players could've dropped out and not impact on the length of the game.. but I guess I could believe you. The point the OP is making is that MOST of the people that join games in gold haven't geared up much, heaps of people join gold lobby game and don't even equip an gear at all and a lot just do the "free" armor one. The alsmo have like a rank 2 rare, or two of them! or a rank 8 tempest or something. Now that fine if someone wants to use what I call a poor choice of weapon, but they should at least have some gear on and have some strong powers and shield buffs from levels.

Games with those players just end up with me (and others) carrying those players who probably quit cos they don't get resd and only have 2-3 medigels/nukes and pretty much just fail in a gold game. I end up using 5 medigels and nukes trying to complete a game when they might've quit at wave 5 and we're trying to finish the game off... and no one replaces them lol.

The real answer is that it was a PUG game, but still, I usually expect some serious performance when I see too GI's on glacier.

I'm sorry, but if you think level affects player skill, then I don't know what to tell you.

Also, they could be dying because they're experimenting, because they're trying to save foolish people (I'm guilty of risking death to revive someone), etc. N7 rank doesn't make them invincible or give them more health. (Conversely, neither does level 20. A lot of people skip Fitness. I prefer it, but I realise I'm not representative of others.)

I did a level 1 on gold after the last promotion operation. Ended up being me who was picking up the rest. With AP 4, AR amp 3, Cyclonic 4 and Harrier X i was not too surprisingly the highest dps person even with a fury and a destroyer.

The secret is to bring the highest level equipment, be the hosty to allow timely dodging, not use a CQC weapon, not be dependent on your powers too much (you're a glorified soldier at level 1) and to be more cautious. The entire match i dropped twice and both times medigelled since i got plenty.

It was lucky though in that they managed to stay on their feet (as in 2 of them were willing to medigel rather than bleed out) with a little help, as if i had to solo the later waves as a level 1 i probably would not have such a relaxed time.

I have however seen the level 1s who drop on gold wave 1 but i have also seen the levels 1-5s who perform decently (not spetacularly but with a ultra low level, matches the other 2 level 20 members in damage output and some even consistently be the last to drop among the 3 randoms)

Conclusion: Its really a gamble. Even with normally good players, the wise ones will throw a grenade or power ASAP to check lag and exit immediately if its bad enough to affect. The unwise ones will stay on and perform poorly

A one off kick doesn't really mean anything if you don't know what it was for, they could've been clearing a spot for a friend for all you know.

The people that the OP is talking about doesn't sound like they are "experimenting" and really I don't think players should be experimenting in gold on a low level class either! I have had a break from ME3 MP since last weekend pretty much cos' all my characters were 16+ (when I usually start playing gold games) and I kept getting fail players lol.
