I'm pretty sure this support forum is dead, but on the off chance that a Bioware employee reads this and hopefully can respond:

It is to my understanding that changing my BSN account's name, or having it changed for me, is impossible.

I recently found the option to delete my account, however.  If I delete my account, would it be possible for me to re-create the account with a new name?  My primary concern is my Mass Effect 2 DLC.  Would I be able to retain or re-register the items in my "registered game content" page?

Any help would be appreciated.

Also, if anyone's wondering why I want to change my name, it's because I didn't know I'd be using these forums as much as I now do.  I originally created the account with the first name I thought of so I could quickly gain access to my DLC for ME2.

I have the same blessed problem.

I want to change my username (and that is ALL) but it seems that every avenue I try results in a dead end.

How can you not be allowed to simply change your username? It makes absolutely no sense.

Please, BioWare/EA, rethink this draconian policy. It doesn't solve any problems and only creates infinitely more for your fans.

At least you only seem to have one game tied to your account so it's only one game you really have to contend with if you delete your profile...

You would be able to re register the games but you would lose the dlc associated with account

I really would like the ability to change our profile name as well. I did the exact same thing as Scruffaluphagus did typed something in quickly to get that DLC

It has been at least a month since the last time either of the two BW people who used to oversee this forum occasionally have answered anything, but questions such as this one (concerning member accounts) were never anything that they had access to anyway. This question should go to EA Help (bottom of the page, "Help" column, the link named Bioware Game Support).

I know its been a long time since this threat was active, but i have the same issue and just went through EA Help to try and fix it and was told it is literally impossible to do. Apparently we are forever stuck with our usernames unless we want to start a new account/lose all dlc :/

I don't understand why they told you that. On the origin client you can change your Origin ID and Email address, while on the forums you can change your display name.

(also why bother bumping an old thread from the old forums?)

Your original username on the Legacy Bioware can't be changed but the only thing remaining on there is registered game content
