What's Your Rule on Using Your Missles?

If it's wave 7+ in a long PUG game with poor teammates I'll use a missile on enemy groups with two bosses as long as it's not right at the beginning of the wave. In other words: this game is taking too long.

I only use them when all Teamates got instant killd or in sticky situations like gold wave 10 hacking but on Bronze never on Silver rarely.

At the time this was written there were no escort objectives, but I find that you really need to use them on those objectives frequently if a Prime/Banshee is in the way that it takes you.
I don't score many points with my missiles because I save them usually for objective waves only and will sometimes take out a single phantom if the situation requires it. Also if we are on a higer wave ( 8 or nine ) and we are in danger of getting wiped I will use all of them if required.
Its also a very good idea to spread the missile usage around the squad ( by calling out "rocket out" ) because I have been in situations where one guy had five rockets saved for wave 10 but then got grabbed straight away and nobody else had rockets left - hate to fail like that.

Only on non-bronze matches.

Or one important teammate is surrounded and downed (or two semi-important teammates are surrounded and downed).

When I'm the only one up and there's bosses left over, that's a missile.
When the team is getting escorted by bosses during an escort mission on wave 10, you better believe that's a missile.

On Bronze: nowadays no missiles, except solo or if the situation is completely FUBAR, or if I am feeling silly. Yes, I think I used a missile on a swarmer once.
On Silver: only if the team is at risk or with a mission taking place right next to two or more bosses which we won't be able to take out in time. During a solo, bosses when I can't avoid them and don't have the time to deal with them with conventional weapons/powers.
On Gold/Platinum: if the situation is in doubt or during an assasination objective if it seems the team is at risk of getting overstretched or the target is hard to reach otherwise. Also, especially if the team is down and I'm last one standing and about to be overwhelmed like the rest. I can barely solo bronze, managed my first silver solo yesterday (yay me!) and don't want to risk the team wiping because I wanted to save a missile for later. No matter if it is wave 1 or wave 11. Often this has saved my team by giving us the time to recover. Even if sometimes it only postponed the inevitable, at least we got one or more rounds further and often it allowed us to make it through another objective wave, so more xp/credits for all of us.
Teammates: when my teammates get in trouble, but are too far away for me to support them, especially when they are at risk of being instakilled, I sometimes throw them a missile. Or if they already went down and no one can get to them otherwise. Not my fault if they can't catch..
Banshees: get a free missile if they get too close and I'm not able to get out of their way or if my teammates are at risk of getting instakilled. Pairs of Banshees can get a missile or two if my aim sucks, just to be sure. :devil:Banshees are the only enemy I still often have problems with.
Primes: when they're sniping the team and stunlocking me they may get one too, just to show them what's what, especially if I already went down once or twice.
Phantoms: if low on shields and health and unable to do anything else before they get close, sometimes a missile is the way to go.

Not anymore, don't normally need to.
Silver: On a hack when we're surounded by bosses or at Extraction.
Gold: Wave 2 (I'm not currently a Gold Player!!!)

If I'm lagging I just spend my missiles when something is giving my squad trouble.
If we're surrounded during a hack.
Group of phantoms/Banshees getting too close for comfort.

Here are my rules:
1) Killing 4 key targets. ONLY on Wave 10 and only against boss units because you want to guarantee those credits.
1a) Using a missile on a key Phantom is acceptable.
2) Multiple boss units (2 or more) all sharing the same 3 meters of radius.
2a) If all boss units are near full health, fire.
2b) If one of the boss units has lost all their shields and half of their armor, do not fire unless the situation is urgent.
3) If you need to clear out a spawn from a hack/upload/pizza/drone objective.
4) NO GLITCHING
5) If the last one standing and being chased by two or more Banshees in the same radius, fire.
6) If there are three or more Phantoms sharing the same three metre radius, fire.
7) Try to aim at the feet if possible. You can aim for the body of an Atlas, but this is not preferred. They have magical powers that can read your movements and trajectory to get out of the way at the last second.

Swarmers, the true Bosses of Bronze. Agreed.DHKany wrote...
Using it on Bronze Bosses.
Always. Always.
Missiles are great when used to missile jump to elevated places you can't reach, unless you're an off host vanguard.
I like to use missiles to hit spawns to deplete the wave budget on more difficult Waves.
Also, they are good to save teammates who are about to get sync killed.
Very handy are these missiles during Wave 10 objectives.
Lastly, always use your missiles during extraction to secure your lead on the scoreboard, even if that means you will screw up the spawns to be closer to the extraction zone. Make sure you see which enemies are reaved or dark channeled, so that you can steal those kills with missiles.

no need to go "Scrooge" on missiles when you have more than 200=]

Ideally I have 4 for wave 10, but there are certain cases like Gold PUGs, where I will try to keep the match alive and will blow the missiles. London's hacks and the far side hack on Jade are notorious for requiring this.
I really wish I could convey to alot of these people playing Infiltrators or hosting on a Kroguard that they shouldn't go into the hack, they should instead pull as much as possible away from the hack......

2. Two Banshees/Primes/Atlases close together. Or just a big gang of bad robots.
3. I'm last man standing and I'm pissed-off.
Bearing in mind I play for fun and am not speed-farming Platinum.

Do you use this in other contexts aswell?
I use Missiles when there's danger of being overwhelmed/ insta-killed. I wish I had more of them when playing against Geth though. Stupid ninja robots.

Failing that, I tend to carry the Reeger Carbine most times, and that seems to do the trick with the Brutes and Banshee's.
