Mass Effect 2 is the best BECAUSE it pretty much ignores the reaper plot. I mean seriously, in ME1 it is ok, but nothing to ride home about. And with ME3 gumming stuff up (I still love ME3) with the reapers, its hard to think of the reaper plot at all. Thank god for ME2, I can play and entire ME game without worrying about the reapers.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions but EC fixes the consequences mattering thing quite nicely. ME2 was super fun, but playing through with a totally different Shep in 3 really really makes me realize who awesome 3 truly is.

It should've been called Mass Effect: Recruitment DLC

How exactly when you get the same 3 garbage endings regardless of what Shep you play?

Not a big fan of ME2 but it by far had the best mission in the trilogy (suicide mission).

ME1 is my favourite, as I'm more into story than gameplay. ME1 gameplay felt a bit clumsy. I thought that ME3 had the best in-game combat

I remember being so pumped, at the end of ME1, of what was to come.

its the sole reason im still here.

ME2 and ME3 mean almost nothing to me. i do play a little MP in ME3 but not $60 worth of it.

hopefull EA has bioware clean house and adds some decent writers back in the mix.

Crazy as it sounds, the multiplayer in me3 makes it feel more complete. I stopped playing me2 until new dlc. However multiplayer in me3 keeps me engaged

You know what I miss from ME2? Squadmates talking during fights.

"Hello, dead people!"
"Scoped and dropped!"
"Right on your ass!"
"Gravity is one mean mother."
"Now you see me ..."
"Automated flight-weapon rigged."
"Perfect!"
"Flammable! Or inflammable. Forget which. Doesn't matter."
"Embrace eternity!"
"Go for the optics, Chiktikka! Go for the optics!"
"One falls."
"That'll put'em down."

Sure, it got repetitious after you'd heard it all, but it's better than the mostly nothing we have now.

I'll admit that jack shouting " I'm gonna destroy you!" did get a little old, but some of the other shouts were nice.

The thing I hated most about mass effect 2 was all the time consuming, repetitive hacking mini games. It was great to see that was scrapped for mass effect 3

I loved ME2. It's the game that got me hooked to the series, even though I had played ME1 before it. All I remember playing ME1 is how I was chasing some nutjob from barren planet to barren planet when the codex kept telling me about these awesome places like Tuchanka, the Migrant Fleet, Palaven, etc. It's fortunate ME1 had such a solid third act, or I might have given up before the game even finished.
At least in ME2 you get to explore many of the different interesting places the lore keeps mentioning, every faction that's going to aid you in the Reaper War is fleshed out nicely, and (no matter what the detractors say) it actually does prepare you quite well for the Reaper War (a lot of people don't realize this because the focus isn't on the stupid generic space chtulus, and ME3 more or less ignores everything ME2 introduced that could be useful anyhow).

becuase in terms of whats worse for the game, planet scanning and starchild trump driving the mako up a steep cliff.

its easy for me to forget ME1s mishaps. its impossible for me to forget ME3s.
