Assuming i would want to edit the talent Tempest (i.e. damage, description, AoE range) , which file would i need to open inside the Toolset from which folder ?

I know i need alter the ABI base.xls and then use the excel converter, but when i use the converter, i dont get a new 2da file, though its reading "sucess". Where would the new 2da file be located ?

You should be getting 4 of them; if you're using Windows Vista or Windows 7, they probably won't show up in the folder unless you copied both the ABI_base.xls and the ExcelProcessor.exe to a folder outside of the default installation path.

Another possible problem you'll have is when you modify the .xls files with Open Office. Adding an unmodified table from another 2da seems to get around this (such as placeable_types from placeables.xls).

That's not the only problem with OpenOffice. ExcelProcessor seems to like truncating floats to int's when you use OpenOffice files.

Quite frankly, it doesnt work regardless. I tried use the stock ABIbase.xls, copied it into the folder where excelc.exe is located, and then right click moved the xls onto the .exe (open with). prompt opens, some lines, "success", no new file inside the folder. I then copies the .exe and .xls elsewhere, tried the same, no new file.
How would the file be based on the abibase.xls be called after the converter is done ?
Is there anything else i need to do, like setting the exe up or something ?
Im using excel, not OO.
XP, not 7.

I am also having the same problem, though I am trying to implement changes to items. Same thing, nothing happens after dropping the file on the exe. Using MS Excel and XP.

Try creating a file named converter.bat and pasting the following into it, editing as needed
C:\\\\2DA\\\\ExcelProcessor.exe ABI_base.xls -outdir=C:\\\\2DA\\\\override\\\\
You should get four files ending in gda in the override folder.

Then again, which file actually alters the AoE, dmg and duration on tempest ? The ABIbase apparently not lol.
sorry. I knew i download your prestige classes mod (more class in general) so i assumed it was PRC. cool. hope you enjoy DA modding.
EDIT: How do you access two word folders in prompt ? i.e. i want to get into my dragon age folder. cd dragon age doesnt work. How do i pronounce the empty field between dragon and age in dos ?

cd "dragon age" works fine for me in a command (DOS) prompt window.
Tab completion should work too, as long as you put that first quote in.

Funny. For me, cd dragon age doesnt work. What works is cd dragon~1 though.
