Disappointed in Dragon Age 2 and the future of RPGs in general? Then support this

The details are all there: it's Obsidian's newest proposed RPG, Project Eternity.
Read what they've written and what they are trying to do, and we see what could very well be a true spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate and proper fantasy RPG designed for the PC, which despite all its claims Dragon Age ceased being as soon as Dragon Age 2 came along. The more funding it gets, the bigger and better it gets, and because it's funded by fans and not dictated by a publisher, it'll be a game made for RPG fans and not just catered to the mainstream masses.
I highly recommend true RPG fans donate towards this. The more they get, the richer the content, and there are good rewards for being a generous donator. With enough support this can be the game that the Dragon Age series should have been.

You could at least have the basic good taste to shill this in the off-topic forums instead.

You're right, I don't plan to support it. But whether I like the idea or not has nothing to do with it. I blew my disposable income on preorders for other games already.Rawgrim wrote...
I am absolutely supporting this project. I doubt the manga elf above me will though. No offence.
Even if I hadn't, it's a question of hardware. I play on console, not PC. I'm not going to support a game I won't be able to play.

So really, this thread isn't about Dragon Age at all.

It is. Dragon Age was originally supposed to be a return to the roots of the classic, epic fantasy RPG like Baldur's Gate, but abandoned that with the sequel completely. Project Eternity is trying the same thing, though hopefully without the latter abandonment.
This is a chance for players who loved DAO but were bitterely disappointed with DA2 to hopefully get what Dragon Age once offered us again, because it's pretty damn clear we're not getting it from future Dragon Age installments.

I have a crappy PC as well, but I think i will be able to run this game just fine. Its isometric and in 2D. Don`t think it will have high demands for a brand new PC. I mostly play new games on xbox, though. Upgrading my comp all the time just got too expensive.

It's very simple. If the purpose of this thread is to advertise/discuss a game that is unrelated to the Dragon Age franchise, then the thread is not actually about Dragon Age. Throwing in "DA2 SUCKS" doesn't change the fact that the thread is about another game completely.Terror_K wrote...

And even though I'm sure the Bioware staff don't mind, advertising a competitor's product in an online space they created for fans to discuss their products is just all-around douchetastic behaviour. I'm sure there are plenty of other, less specific game discussion sites you could've gone to instead, and still reached a lot of the same audience.

Of course they don't mind, several Bioware Devs have contributed to this after all.

I'm not disappointed in the direction of RPGs though. I like all RPGs including older CRPGs.

And this is from someone who's supporting the project himself.
