Well, you have an interesting definition of "fun," but to each his own. GrimDark SpaceMagic Console-crippled 3rd-person shooter just isn't entirely my thing. That doesn't even have co-op SP in addition to whatever MP it's going to get.

Are gamers really this desperate for an OK-level story, in any case? (A story they still ended up hating the end of, I might add.) "Good for a game" doesn't really equal "Good story in general."

Go try Pohl's Gateway series if you want a story that's actually good, it handled a lot of the concepts in ME far better than ME ever did. And that's just one example.

You'd have a point about story there if I were talking about the singleplayer, but as this is the MP forum, I am saying that I enjoy the multiplayer. I like the gameplay. Partaking in gameplay that I like is indeed what I consider fun, if that's an interesting definition, I'd love to hear what yours is.

ME3 is the first real multiplayer game I've truly grown to love, despite having tried many over the years. Company of Heroes I adore, but only with my co-workers and against the AI. I love the combat style in ME3 (finding ME2 a complete pain because Shep seems to have been brought back from the dead with Turian legs).

I will try other games for many reasons, but I love the ME universe. I still haven't played the DA series I've been so sunk into this one for the past year, so I'm not planning on leaving. Besides, I know these BioWare guys are plotting something, you can hear them rubbing their hands in the background, teasing us with little posts here and there.

I imagine Tuesday will be interesting.

few things need to be buffed, like some underperforming URs and N7 weapons; ALSO drell, batarian and krogan classes that usually are kicked from the hi-difficulty matches.

But with new toys i would be happy too

Tuesday needs to be balanced.  It's too close to Monday.  Could we move it more toward the weekend?

Re-read the bolded part. You brought it up; without the story, there is no "ME universe," there's just some character/gun models and some maps.

And part of the gameplay of multiplayer they've built in is grinding for decent guns/different characcters if you don't want to give them $$$ for the lottery tickets that may or may not give them to you. Participating in a credit-and-scratch-off-lotttery-ticket-based economy isn't my idea of fun, but it is EA's idea of using players as an extended revenue stream.

Multiplayer in ME3 wan't built with the focus on you having fun. The focus is letting you have just enough fun that you don't leave and maybe give EA more money on top of what you already paid for the game.
