Seems like everyone on this board compares DA2 to Skyrim - lulwut? (I don't get it)

So I guess that means BW should make DA3 a Skyrim killer to make anyone happy on the DA2 boards...

Apart from me, who would be just happy if DA2 team learned from the mistakes of DA2 and ME3...

No? No.

edit: upvoting your own thread is not very nice.

double-edit: you probably haven't read the prior topics discussing it. The consensus seems to be that DA'd do it's own thing.

But skyrim doesn't have voice or a dialogue wheel so it will need innovating before it can come up to Biowares standards

No-one save Bioware's teams can reach up to those standards, you're foolish to allow for that possibility.

Because of what was written in some article awhile back, stating "BioWare is looking in skyrim's direction" or something like that. I'm not sure what it suppose to mean, but nevertheless doesn't sound good.

Here's something to learn from Skyrim: making a world more immersive by adding small details to the environment.  That doesn't mean making the game open-world or taking party members out of the game.   Dragon Age should still primarilly be Dragon Age, but there are cool things about Skyrim's environments, exploration and region-specific architecture that could positively impact DA3's design.

DA:2 was a pretty painful experience, but Skyrim was certainly no fun either. Skyrim's far greater asthetics at least kept me interested longer, but as a game it was so, so, so, souless and dull.

It's like Bethesda & Bioware are in a race to see who can alienate their fanbase and undo everything good from previous years first!

What's wrong with making the Dragon Age series more like Dragon Age: Origins?

Nothing.

But hey, judging from their pre-release DA2 vids they seem to be ashamed of Origins. So theres that..

Yup...

What's written above is what I also think is something that could be looked at for DA3. You cannot compare the two games because they are two completely different kind of games.

More detail/differentiation and exploration is what made me give Skyrim as an example too in various threads Posted Image.

Thing is, because it's not the same devs there's a chance that they may well do.

Have just been reading this...................

social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/141/index/4982457/1

.....................and it really doesn't fill me with any hope for DA:3

Between that and this........

www.youtube.com/watch

...........it just seems as if Bioware will do anything other than give fans the "DA:O part 2" experience that most of us want.

"classic RPG" is a term Laidlaw uses and that's what I think most people want, but there's not been any news so far that's what we'll get.

I suppose in 5 years time we'll be starting threads titled "Just make DA:5 like COD"

If i saw that second video before the release of DA2 it would've multiplied my disappointment x10.

Apples to Oranges.

DAO and DA2 were good games. DA3 will be good and doesn't need to clone Skyrim to do it

^ This. The game elements that the Elder Scrolls games do well and the elements that the Dragon Age games do well (and yes, DA2 did some things well) are not the same things.
