Features:

A rich, branching storyline: Experience a sci-fi epic with multiple endings determined by your choices and actions throughout the game.
Massive in scope: Battle on many worlds across the galaxy as you unite the ultimate force to take back the Earth before it’s too late.

Amazon still selling it like its your story, still only £20 now!

Just noticed it said throughout the game, not throughout the series - I guess this really is the best place to start.

But it doesn't even do that... Unless you mean EMS, but then that's not your specific actions, it's just an arbitrary number that accumulates...

It's NOT arbitrary! You have to get that number really high so that the best ending opens up and you can pick Synthesis and save the universe! It was even forshadowed in ME1 when Saren was also trying to save the universe and you stopped him at the last second!

...excuse me, I need to go vomit now...

But synthesis is inevitable anyway, so why not pick red or blue while waiting for the inevitable?

Getting upset over a marketing hyperbole? classy.

I'd hate to see how some of you guys react to something that actually is depressing.

2007 was so more appealing to be a mass effect fan

From Interview with Mr. Hudson venturebeat.com/2012/03/02/casey-hudson-bioware-co-created-mass-effect-3-with-the-sometimes-cranky-fans-interview/:

GB: So are you guys the creators or the stewards of the franchise?[/b]
CH: Um… You know, at this point, I think we’re co-creators with the fans. We use a lot of feedback.

Just a note: while community members are free to comment, opine, suggest, praise and criticize games in the forum, it is a little unreasonable to believe that consumers are "co-creators" of the game as they have invested nothing, done no substantial work, and have nothing at stake or at risk. Sorry...

I still believe it's EA's fault. Bioware should have stayed independent with Microsoft as the publisher.

Well there is a very twisting story as to how Bioware found it's way to EA, it all started with a private equity group, that funnily enough had John Riccitello as one of the founders in 2004, in November 2005 Bioware and Pandemic were given $300 million to join up (they also tried nabbing Eidos in March of 2005) organized under VG holdings (a section of Elevation Partners).  In 2007 and eight months into being CEO of EA (again) Riccitello has bought Bioware/Pandemic studios from his previous employer for $860 million.

So you can blame Elevation for letting go of Bioware for a big chunk of money, or Bioware for jumping around almost every failing publishers lap, and eventually into the hands of EA.

Well, first of all, I do respect moderators. And, surprisingly, I do respect Hudson, despite of my thoughts on ME3. But this is not the first time people from the same company say opposite things. And, yes, I know, it is just a PR talk and so... Ahh, you have ruined the fun for me now! Image IPB

Feel free to search for 100+ employee company where everyone agrees exacly with everyone else about everything.

Anyway in the beginning of the video they said that you are commander Shepard. I dont know about you but I certainly am not commander Shepard. I wish they would stop spreading these falsehoods.

It's blatantly the writer's story and anyone who thought otherwise was incredibly foolish.

Just because you pick choices doesn't make it your story. Guess who wrote ALL of those choices? The writers. Mass Effect is just a complex Choose-Your-Own-Adventure book from the 80s, and they belonged to the author(s) as well.

I was Indoctrinated to believe that ME3 ending finished the series for me but then I woke up. But then an EC came out and it made the game as a whole not too bad for me. But then I was indoctrinated again to show that all my choices would matter in whatever I did in ME3. Who knew that Hudson was working with the reapers?

We're not talking about copyright issues here. Its about the gameplay experience. If i get reduced to simple point and shoot, while the author makes all the important talk for me, i feel stupefied. I dont need a game that takes me by the hand, but one that makes me think what should i do next.

The whole concept of ME3 is that the writer(s) take themself to important to allow player interaction at some point. But its a game. Its my game. Damn it! Set it up in a way that i can do something, not just sit there passiv, and listen to the same dialogue i still dont agree on. ME1 + 2 managed to balance betwen narration and player immersion.

ME3 has just so much lenghty talk, that makes me think this is just a place holder for a proper dialoguewheel-player-interaction, bioware has forgotten to include at some point in time.

Sorry, but name-calling and insults is not the way to keep a discussion thread open.

End of line.
