I run a 6 6 6 0 6 build. http://narida.pytalh...6@0EE@@Z4I4@0@0

The fury master guide above demonstrates the basics: DC a mook (or not, depending on time luxury & panic level), using after-burner speed from AF and picking a route with some cover, weave (rather than run straight in) toward a group, targeting a shielded enemy. As you're about to get within AF distance, slow up, then stop & throw. N.B.: if you race up without slowing & stopping you'll get within elbow distance and take one on the chin, which wrecks the BE sequence and will result in your untimely demise. (Your shields may get depleted, but your BE will clear the area and give you time to recover, or you'll leech shields back from a mook.)

This is key: do not stand around watching the BE. As soon as you throw, either find cover - or if you threw amongst a shielded mook who survived the BE, simply take two steps back, then forward again to light them up with AF, and re-throw immediately. Otherwise, immediately clear the area and race toward the next potential BE site. With practice, you start thinking about the 2nd BE site as you're running toward the first BE site (a strategy modified by the necessity of reviving fallen players or boss-killing).

The scorpion is for phantom dancing. If you pick her up at distance, DC then fire 2 or 3 mines in her path. Don't wait for them to explode - just follow the trigger pulls with a throw. Hopefully you catch her staggered and vulnerable to the BE. If she's in close and you have no cover, stay just outside her grab distance, dance back and forth, let your AF light her up, fire your load of mines at her feet and follow with a throw (as above, she'll stagger and 'splode real good). If she's in her blue cocoon, just scorpion her to death.

Geth are trickier, since you have to resist the temptation to race forward & BE. For them I use more DC, scorpion them, and/or let them advance into the AF as I hide in cover. The important thing is to keep some distance. Only CQC on your terms.

For banshees and brutes: run forward, then throw & teleport backwards almost simultaneously (your AF will have lit them up for the resulting BE). To get past brutes blocking your path: run forward, turn sideways and teleport in their direction (you'll end up behind them).

Another thing: AF is like spidey-sense. When it arcs out sideways or backwards, it's revealing the location of (often hidden) enemies. Be ready to turn and throw when it does so. Saved my life countless times.

Re: my build. I prefer health and throw radius. I find the sliver of health that remains after an error is often the difference. The throw radius makes hitting that BE slightly more likely. There's no right answer, of course: play the way you enjoy it.

I see people later in the thread discussing use of the Acolyte, but I wasn't sure if it was made clear. I don't have vid access at work, so I'm guessing it's the Acolyte within range of AF + Throw tactic, which will basically drain shields, plus Bio Boom, essentially one-shotting Phantoms. Because of this, the Acolyte is a must for the Fury, imo.

I run with a 6/6/6/6/0 build. Yes, Fitness is great, but I haven't looked back since.

Gun loadout depends on the enemy. Vs Reapers, just the Piranha or Harrier is okay. The Harrier gives you range versatility. Since there aren't too many shielded enemies, I can opt not to use an Acolyte vs Reapers. However, you can equip one just for staggers and Marauder draining.

Vs Geth, Cerrberus or Unknown, Acolyte + Harrier/Piranha/Hurricane. Whichever floats your boat. I've been using the Hurricane lately because I have so many damned SMG Rail Amps and not enough of SG or AR Rail Amps.

The Fury is a dynamic, fast-paced, aggressive, CQC character, well-suited vs any faction.

Sorry - one more thing re: fighting banshees in close: if your other team mates are alive, don't DC the banshee to set up your BE. Use the throw/backward teleport method. Why? Because it allows for maximum BE/second, and your BE may stagger her and cause her to drop a team mate.

If you DC, the longer cooldown delay will prevent that key throw you need to stagger her when she's grabbing a team mate. Trust me: I've watched too many friends die to her filthy hands while I impotently watched my DC cooldown, waiting for throw to activate.

... but I also think I got too used to Pull on my Adepts for dealing with Guardians and kept fluffing up against them by attempting to use Throw, which doesn't create quite the same effect.... Is it fast firing guns like SMG that work best against Guardian shields, or slow and powerful like pistols?

I use Talon with EB and AP mods, and get up close to Guardians and quickscope / mail-slot them.

But don't get close enough that they start meleeing you, then you're in trouble.

You can also Throw to knock their shield back, and then headshot them, but it's a bit trickier.

If you are mobile enough, (which you should be as a Fury), you will sneak up on a fair amount of Guardians from behind, and you can just AF+Throw them like any other trooper.

I've seen both good and bad Furies (Furys?) in PUGs, but I'm jelly either way bc it's the N7 char I wanted the most and still haven't gotten her :(

Saving this thread for future reference for when I finally unlock her /wishful thinking :D

I revisited the Acolyte and what I really like about it is you can charge and shoot while running. You basically never have to stop. Unfortunately characters steer and aim like a Buick while you're running, but it'd doable and fun.

I've also switched Dark Channel to duration and Barrier/Shield damage. I slap it on Phantoms and Banshees that are being a pain in the butt or aren't the main focus, or a Turret, hit with Acolyte, and let it die to DoT.

The Fury's one my favorite builds, I love that woman! If anybody's interested, here's a good video showing an excellent set-up for her. The guy who made the video is pretty sharp..

I remember the day when Biotics got biotic explosions every once in awhile, not every darn second.
