Playing Star Wars Knights of the Old repblic, being honest. I loved the choice feature in the game, choose your response. Different outcome's in topic's and different outcomes. Eagerly awaiting for Dragon Age to release it's next down loaded content.

I deicded to play Mass Effect 1, it's very similar to Knights of Old Repblic one. In fact all bioware games are nearly same with choice features

As Mass Effect 2 peaks it's head around the corner. I start to wonder if the graphics/storyline maybe even a nuddie secne, similar to Dragon Age will be included and the new plots storyline

What do you think, Mass Effect 2 going to buy it?

What I mean is, I noticed In star wars lost repbluic and in Mass effect one. One huge difference besides the graphics. Is the approval party rating..I played Mass Effect today and was dissspointed in the lack of a reaction I got from my female companion..

Do you think Mass Effect 2 will be similar to Dragon Age: Ogins in terms of Compainons, love secne..etc?

There is going to be a Loyalty system (very similar to DA:O) in Mass 2, i'm excited for this, but some others don't seem to be.

I think Dragon Age has a bit more polish overall than Mass Effect. As much as I loved Mass Effect there are some elements to it that feel a bit rushed, such as how the bases and space stations in the side quests all look the same, and the MAKO controls.

Dragon Age also is just a bigger game overall with more characters, more companions, and more lore.

Both are great games, but I prefer Dragon Age.

I can't wait for Mass Effect 2.

With no offense intended at all, I can't help but feel the ME series was made by the B team. ME1, while a great game and I loved it, is just not up to par with some of BioWare's previous games.

Mass Effect Graphic 1 compared to Dragon Age Orgins, let's be honest. They look very outdated. Though in The Trailor for Mass Effect 2, the graphics look mind blowing.

I only hope the storyline, has a good one to go one with it. I also notice in Mass Effect 1 there are only three responses to a statment. While Dragon Age has four

In mass effect one, seems to be a weak minor response to statment's. Let me explain that a little more, no matter what response you give, doesn't seem to change the direction of your storyline much.

While in Dragion Age the statment's and arugment's can have a ripple effect. I am very excited for Mass Effect 2. Bioware has unlimited poential working in space, where they can have lots of material.

I would actually say that the graphics in Mass Effect are one of the few things about ME that is better than Dragon Age.

Dragon Age's graphics aren't bad, but the Unreal 3 engine is one of the best engines out there.

I found dialog in Mass Effect was less effective like in DAO I enjoyed Mass Effect but i would of liked more dialog between party on missions etc instead of repeating the same lines. I hope Mass Effect 2 has some sort of approval system and make characters react differently to your actions more.

Somehow I have a difficulty to learn what you want comparing title and post. Seems to me if you ask in a DA:O forum, if you should get ME2 after you liked ME, but missed a more extensive character companion interaction as in DA:O?

I don't know, honestly. Perhaps after I read a more extensive preview or review. Problem with these is often, that they tend to spoil at least a little bit the plot. Seems it's planned, although Bioware also said to put more emphasis on tha action part than the RPG. If the story and RPG part is at least as much full of content as ME(1), then I'll buy it. I have to say, that even DA:O had more polish and content than ME, some scenes moved me emotionally more, than in DA:O. Maybe personal taste here, but ME2 is almost certainly bought immediately after I hesitated with ME until it was lowered in price and the copy protection was changed into a little bit less restrictive mode.

Still, I hope Bioware didn't make any sacrifices or devoted less attention to the story for the sake of more action.

That's primarily because ME was never a full-fledged RPG, but instead a TPS with many RPG influences and elements, but it's main focus was the TPS element (something that will apparently be enforced even further in ME2 with the exclusion of things such as skills affecting your ability to actually hit things (now it's gonna be: if it's in your crosshair and you shoot, you hit it... similar to change from Morrowind to Oblivion) and the streamlining of skills/abilites to somewhat lesser complexity).

Not to say I won't get it, quite the contrary. It's possibly one of my most expected titles of 2010. and I'm glad it's mere month away. One thing I'm really looking forward and something I see as a massive addition is the actual influence system which was absent in the original. And... you know, that CGI trailer has me all pumped up now.

Two different games, equally enjoyable on their own merits.

Bioware will certainly top the first Mass Effect with Mass Effect 2.

Mass Effect and Dragon Age are two different sets of intellectual property - you can't really compare the two.

They are more similar then you know...Both have different choices on responses..Both have companion's...I played Mass Effect 1 and in the first mission, the person says "Thank the Maker"...

The Maker is in Dragon Age Orgins, the only difference is that one is in space storyline, the other is on earth. They have same concept's.

While the storyline, appearance, voices may be different the foundation basics remain the same

Dude people in real life can say "thank the maker". It's just a phrase.

Take it literally and you might as well say that Fade spirits and Geth come from the same place, Arl Howe is an alien from planet Amaranthine, Paragon Shepard is hereby declared a living ancestor and Sophia Dryden was possessed by a Hanar.

Okay the similar things are

1.) Companions- In both Games you have different companion's that you talk to in you're party.

2.) Choices- Both Games have choices and different responses

3.) I could go on and on, but the foundation of the game is built around basic aspect's..the storyline is changed/and NPC'S but the inital foundation remain's the same..

All bioware games are similar in this, am I only one seeing this

Dude, those are the hallmarks of a Bioware game, especially the companions. Its their strongest area.

They are two different games that just happen to share some similaries, such as story and character interaction. The main differences with Mass Effect and Dragon Age for me is combat. DA combat requires a lot of thought, and planning. ME's combat was more fast paced, and whilst they did have squad commands in Mass Effect, they never really worked the way they should.

Don't get me wrong, I love ME and can't wait for ME2, but Dragon Age seems to be much more detailed and involved. I'm finding that I'm having to take my time and progress a lot more carefully and thoughtfully through the game in DA then I did in ME.

Combat in both games is entirely different. While DA:O plays more like chess, ME plays more like a tactical FPS with a pause function. I'm burning for ME2. Since the sequel also comes from Bioware my hopes are high. The most disappointing (and buggy) sequel to an outstanding Bioware game was KotOR2, which basically came unfinished into the shelves and never was patched in a decent way (at least in the German even after the patch some dialogues are completely screwed up). But it was from Obsidian, who at least did a much more solid job on NWN2.

When it comes to the RPG part in ME, I'd say compared to DA:O it is a RPG lite. Still, it blew me away. I loved the dialogues and also liked the story and especially the setting and ME universe. Some situations in ME actually moved my feelings more than any in DA:O. I hope, Bioware will have succeeded in creating a worthy sequel. ME deserves it.

Anyway, I think, I'll read a review of my most trusted game magazine before getting ME2.

I have ME2 pre-ordered, and I love DA:O so much, I can't pick between the games, as to which is my favorite, so I'll go with the game that brought me to Bioware, Jade Empire ;)

Yep, but was the first work of Obsidian, who seemed to have been pressured to release the game prematurely as the publisher got impatient or didn't want to extend funding of development. Still, I am disappointed, that they never patched it correctly.

The good news is, that at least according to some previews also the RPG part of ME was improved in ME2, especially the reactions of companions to "good" or "evil" decisions of the character. So far I could trust my favourite gaming magazines pretty much. And even more I could trust Bioware, too. ME2 is almost as surely bought as the sun will rise tomorrow.
