How come there are no solo speed runs versus reapers?

My buddy Caineghis2500 and I do various solo's as a way to challenge ourselves and also use them as kind of tutorial to help other players with their builds etc.

Being that I play on a console (Xbox) the challenge to do a speed run solo is very difficult in comparison to pc. When I do these solo's I usually play them against Reapers since there is the difficulty of the Banshee being in the mix. I get comments sometimes comparing my solo to pc speed runs...which dont make sense at all by the way as I dont do solo speed runs and it has not been my intent either. I provide instructional vids to help the community and to do a solo speed run on console (except probably against Geth) is very difficult to say the least due to the mechanics behind it.

On that note though....maybe I missed the video but ....where are the solo speed runs versus reapers? I think I maybe saw one video of a GI versus reapers but the time was no where near a speed run. Is there anything out there like that or is that something the pc guys should take on as a challenge?

You are the only two Reaper soloers we need on Xbox. You guys rock!

But to answer your question, I have no idea. Nothing comes to mind.

 I've seen some.

One reason might be that GIs/Glacier is the most popular speed run set up, and Ravagers can be a little problematic there. If you kill one that means you can't get through because of the acid, so you waste time getting around it.

Links?

Maybe the pc guys can try it. My next list of videos are with various characters and speed runs are limited to certain characters. I have gone through a few youtube channels I just cant seem to find any speed run solo's versus reapers.

They're the slowest to kill. It could be done though

Soloing Reapers is the easiest but not the quickest.

For me wasting bullets and powers on husks and taking the long routes to avoid ravager acid is what costs a lot of time. Not to forget when you try to rocket a spawn the 2 banshees have already escaped.

Swarmer juice, serious, I have done this on Glacier where the Ranavgers spawn at the bottom, if they are killed on the stairs, there is generally 2 to 4 of them, you can't make it to the bottom without dying, or at least we couldn't.....maybe if you hit an ops pack going down...haven't tried it in a long time.

I'll do one later. Don't expect great runs though.

And Velaut has done a Reaper/Gold speedrun with a GI/Piranha. It took 18 min 31, I believe.

I'm sure it has something to do with Banshee's and ravagers

18 minutes is still pretty fast imo.

Impressive time for a Reapers Gold Solo on Glacier! I'll have to watch the vid later.

Every unit can become a problem when you throw Banshees into the mix. Vs Reapers, I'd say it's more beneficial to solo on a larger map, for obvious reasons. Kiting a Banshee can have you running into any of the other units who become problematic in that scenario.

A GI does have the benefit of Hunter Mode, which does greatly reduce the risk, but getting Husked, shot up by Marauders, hugged by Cannibals, tripped up on an army of Swarmers, corner gang-banged by Brutes, all cause serious issues.

A lot of these solo runs are much faster than the average PUG. Makes me want to just solo to avoid the mishaps I've been experiencing lately :P

Reapers are easier on smaller maps with hack and escort objectives. They follow you like leeches. Corral them into stairways, small hallways and it's hunting season. Why I laugh at doing White/Platinum cause the dumb AI's get stuck in the stairwell thanks to the Brute.

The answer is simple, speedrun is for speed, reapers and Cerberus have instakills, and only 1 instakill can screw up the entire game.

I have soloed against Reapers and the only real problem are marauders. Banshee become an issue when they start cheating but i n general, Reapers are the weakiest faction, because they are too slow.

Marauders are the bane of GIs. I noticed that a bunch of them camp in odd places and even two can quickly overwhelm a solo GI who is momentarily distracted.

Swarmers and ravager acid are far more dangerous.
