That's actually not the case at all, from what I've read of CDPR's notes on the matter. It was simply that they didn't have the time or resources to devote to doing it once more -- as they did with porting it to the Xbox 360.

Not so much that it wouldn't work, but that they just didn't want to spend who-knows-how-long creating the game a third time for various reasons.

Personally, your not missing much. It is hard to get into, combat is strange (I just spam X). And the animations for running is stange.

Also Flotsam (the first town) forest looks nice but there is a cave full of these goblin things from the ground, it's a very dull scene.

Same. I have it for the PC but my computer could never handle the awesome, and I absolutely refuse to buy an Xbox 360.

I'm curious to see how DA will look in the Frostbite engine.

I hope DAIII has good physics. Not just Destruction 3.0 but also ragdoll physics, verlet physics and such. And bow strings. Don't forget bowstrings.

DAII had some form of this with the hair and cloaks being able to move a bit, probably with extra bones for that I guess.

Of course I'd like them to devote more resources to better enviroments and interaction. But if they can afford it...

Release platforms weren't confirmed yet, you've run across a rumor, friend. Worry about it when they tell you what they're releasing the game on.

Thanks Ultimashade!  I hope to stay in contact with announcements and news from Bioware related to the Dragon Age Series, especially DA3 Inquisition.  Now that I got through with the Mass Effect trilogy, I'm experimenting with some different choices to see how it'll effect DA3 when I play.  Also curious about the backgrounds we'll have a choice in making for our character.

My computer is getting really long in the tooth, and I simply cannot afford to upgrade, not in the foreseeable future, unless something unexpected happens. I might just manage to upgrade my XP, but the next hardware upgrad I have available on my setup is essentially buying a new motherboard, requiring a new processor, new memory, new graphics card, etc., and that I cannot afford.

Switching to a new engine will eat up resources and time for DA3. I'm glad we can agree on that.

You can say what you want but they have to work on the engine either way. Eclipse/Lyrium looked really bad even in 2011. BioWare is better off licensing a modern engine and sticking to what they're good at. Eclipse is a lost cause.

This won't be known for quite some time.

The only thing that is clear at this stage is you will need Windows 7 or later.

I have a pc from 2006, and I just installed Windows 7. I have two hard drives, 150 gig each, so I installed Windows 7 on one hard drive, and left Win XP on the other one.  It cost me $225.00 for the program, and the new graphics card, and I already had a new motherboard. So with Win 7, and DX 11, I should be ok. (I hope)

Finally they are getting a new engine. I dont know what it is with Bioware and old engines but I am glad they are getting an engine that will allow to show of graphics as well as story.

I'm actually pretty interested in seeing how Dragon Age will look on Frostbite. Battlefield 3 looked pretty good on it. Hopefully thats what the rumor means when they say Dragon Age 3 will be next gen. Frostbite is a NextGen engine after all.

I know. It's just that some folks on here seem to think that DA3 using Frostbite automatically means it will have the same level of detail as BF3. Then there are some who think that DA3 will be a FPS because it's using Frostbite. Those people are funny.
