Thank's for all the hard work you put into the franchise and good luck in the future. I loved all the content that you have listed up above so you really did help make the games awesome.

Dear person who insists we change Cassandra’s head because you don’t like it: “Thank you for your feedback. We will not be doing so.”

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw  ·  11m 11 minutes ago

I earnestly hope that will give said person some closure. Not happy closure, probably, but at least some.

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw  ·  7m 7 minutes ago

Like to be honest, I get it. Games are escapism, and it’s tough when parts of the experience are jarring.

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw  ·  6m 6 minutes ago

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw  ·  5m 5 minutes ago

Including long play sessions and so on. The feedback on that kind of transparency has been good. “More of that, please!” generally.

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw  ·  3m 3 minutes ago

So, we will try and keep at it. Including releasing images of companions, in case that is your purchasing criteria.

User

Then delay the game. Don't release it and then say, oh there are other features we wanted to add but we ran out of time.

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

That is not a reality in most development cycles, unfortunately.

User

Which is sad, because in some situations the fans are the ones who suffer.

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

It depends. Certain features can improve a game, but not have a fundamental impact on the experience.

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

Other features are much deeper cuts that do affect players. As everything, you do the best you can in time available.

User

It kinda feels like @bioware isn't listening to our feedback most of the time to me. I usually see a lot of complaints

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

This is the internet. There are many complaints on it. We listen to them all, but may not agree with them or be able to fix all.

User

I just wished bioware would be more supportive towards the modding community. come out with a sdk even like Beth.

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

We would like to do that at some point, but there are some intense technical hurdles before we can.

User

worthy target. modding turned skyrim from a ok open world into a game still relevant 3+ years later. I want that for biogames

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

Origins had a similar mod platform, but Frostbite is a much different beast. Many integrated, yet external, pieces.

Are the "Skyhold Pajamas" a thing you can, can't, or won't fix (e.g. by giving more outfit choices)?  I'd like that closure.

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

Assume they will not be fixed.

User

(1/2) don't understand game finance, why's it cheaper to keep a team fixing bugs and adding things (storage) than to release..

User

(2/2) a more completed product? Is it because with the advent of multi-player you have to maintain a team post release anyway?

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

Finishing a game is a multi-month process in which even tiny mistakes can wreck very tightly coordinated schedules.

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

You must be VERY risk averse during that time and adding small features introduces far more work and risk than it would seem.

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

Post release, there is less risk, more time to test, and there are always bugs to be addressed. Between bugs, some feature…

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

…work makes sense, and can be justified as a way to add to player experience goodwill in advance of anything from future games..

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

…to DLC.

User

what like the now laughable made for pc video

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

I certainly would like to improve PC controls further if we do another. For now, numerous patches out based on feedback.

User

in hindsight would you have shifted some content development resources to DAIMP away from campaign?

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

Nope.

User

don't understand? SP had arguably too much content while 3 levels at launch for MP was quite sparse.

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

I would have changed elements of SP, not moved them to MP.

User

One question. Are you and your team planning to make Hero of ferelden DLC stop the calling with inquisitor? That would be cool!!

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

I cannot discuss future content or storylines in any way.

User

Any chance of party banter ever working as players are expecting it to work? Stopped me from playing even though I preordered.

Mike Laidlaw @Mike_Laidlaw

It's been addressed in several patches, but I still see some reports of it happening. We'll keep digging.

Mike, this guy will not be satisfied. He will continue his crusade to change Cassandra's face.

Then the only remedy is the 'broken record' technique, where the facts of the case are simply restated.

That last exchange does provide 3 simple and useful truths, which I shall bookmark for future convenience as and when they will doubtless be required  :

- - - - - - - -

1. Cassandra's face is not changing (and no, she is not a man).

Mike Laidlaw (May 9 2015): 'Dear person who insists we change Cassandra’s head because you don’t like it: “Thank you for your feedback. We will not be doing so.” I earnestly hope that will give said person some closure. Not happy closure, probably, but at least some. Like to be honest, I get it. - - - - - - - -

2. Inquisitor PJs are here to stay.

Mike Laidlaw (May 9 2015): 'Assume they will not be fixed.'

- - - - - - - -

3. PC UI improvements for DAI are done.

Mike Laidlaw (May 9 2015): 'I certainly would like to improve PC controls further if we do another. For now, numerous patches out based on feedback.'

- - - - - - - -

More generally, whether it be for elf arms or hair options, or whatever remains a point of debate, the message I'm receiving is that patching is pretty much done on DAI and anything else becomes simply a point of feedback that contributes to future DLC and/or DA4.

We're just about 6 months post-launch and aside of maybe a couple more single player DLCs and ongoing DAIMP support for maybe another 2-3 DLCs over 8-12 months (depending on platinum sales), Dragon Age is going back into hibernation, which mirrors 6 month's pre-launch (pre-original launch date) when Dragon Age 'woke up'.

The baton will shortly pass to another franchise to 'wake up' I hope.

Indeed, and I think this safely describes all of BioWare's franchises, including Mass Effect and the 'new IP'.

I think Cassandra looking like a supermodel would have been more jarring and felt unrealistic. The hit by a bus look makes sense as she's a warrior.

Awesome feedback from Mike though.

It seems some of the things on their wishlist are quite similar to that of the community. Hopefully one day some of those things can be moved off their wish list and into our reality...

I think it was the one about 'Can we have HoF DLC...'

Which is no pointer to there being a 'secret plan' to have one, just a reiteration of the policy to not discuss future content...

Curiously, and contradicting that statement, we have seen 'teases' which could point towards

both Dwarven-Darkspawn-Warden and/or Dread Wolf-Elven plotlines... maybe...

BSN mostly I think. After being banned he comes back with a new account and starts all over again.

But from Laidlaw's tweets I'm guessing he's on twitter too?

The last one was pretty impressive ,science and everything!

You had two skulls one male and one female ..with some transparency Cassandra in game face was appearing on the male one , and a Cassandra with a smaller jaw and cute earings was appearing on the female skull.
