Still hiring for The Keep? Four months before release? Hmmmm. I'm not sure what to make of that.

Not surprising. Web services require long-term maintenance beyond what would be necessary for a mostly-offline game. Monitoring server health is an absolute minimum, and there's often a higher expectation of updates when you're running a website. He likely mentioned the Keep because it's the project new hires would ramp up on - i.e. relatively stable/finished and easier to work on when getting started.

One thing you NEVER do in engineering is hire new people during a crunch period, because they slow the project down (people less familiar with the project need babysitting from experienced devs at first). Hiring is probably happening because there's a lull in development on the Keep, not a rush.

I apologize for being a little dense and out of the loop, but are we expecting the Dragon Age (and possibly Mass Effect) info to primarily come out on Monday during the EA conference?  I don't really know a lot about these events or how they work.

 

(In my day you could only find out about upcoming games from monthly magazines printed on paper and mailed to you.  *phlegmy cough*  *squeaks walker to yell at those "damn kids" to get off lawn*)

Lol, your not. The reason I ask is I will be in the area on Tuesday for a ubisoft event and if they will be around, if someone can let me know what hotel the bioware folk will be in, I can wait around the lobby in the hopes each can sign my books. (Asunder,masked empire)

I wanna talk with them about writing...I mean for one its pretty hard to sign a Kindle, and for two I am investigating the possibility of going into game writing for a career.

Monday and Tuesday look to be the busiest days for DAI info, but they've said it's gonna be a whole week of DA goodness.
