having to remove a few lines of dialogue also constitutes a 'cut', I don't think there's as much at stake here as you all seem to act like there must be
I don't think there is either. They cut stuff all the time.

I don't believe they could even cut a companion now, considering how integrated they all are into the game.
I don't think they cut a companion, either. I'm just saying, in the hypothetical that they did, it wouldn't end with Cullen getting a promotion.
I hope if they had cut a companion he or she will be in DLC. Like Sebastian.
But is there any way we can reconcile something like this?
Opening the floodgates and letting us know everything?
But seriously, no, there's nothing you can do to end feverish, paranoid speculation. This fire's been burning since the world's been turning.

I mean, I got the joke just fine, and never really thought anything of it. I mean, you guys probably cut stuff all the time, and so David's comment came at no surprise to me.
As to what you can do about it, I don't have a clue. Let it try to die down. I don't think what has been posted in this thread is that serious though.
Yeah. He was making a joke in response to what would happen if we were cutting features that had been announced...
While I understand the enthusiasm, when a misunderstanding starts getting its own posts repeating the misunderstanding, it starts to become misinformation.
Given that people come here to see some of the tweets that people share, this can be dangerous. Now we could probably change how this thread works, but I am not sure if that would help any as the speculation would just move elsewhere. But is there any way we can reconcile something like this?
he who doest not knoweth the ways of game development, doth make mountains out of molehills
People are always going to take any tenuous evidence they can to try to back up their own theories, even if they can only convince themselves. I don't think there anything that anyone can do. At least the thread makes it easier to find the original quotes.

Mike Laidlaw said there won't be any DLC companions in Inquisition. There's an article here, amongst other places.
I very much doubt any companions have been cut recently. My understanding is that they're so integrated into the game they tend to get removed relatively early or not at all. It seems kind of late to be taking people out.

That doesn't help- speculations will be in another themes. Unless you ask your team not to write in twitter any more.
Cullenfans- we all know you are exited but please go to his thread. Another people have troubles searching news- exitements confuse them.

Phew. Thanks for the clarification, Allan. ![]()
To be honest, I kind of feel like it's a person's own fault if they take second or third hand quotes to support crazy theories and then get disappointed when they don't pan out. >_>
But, really, nothing is going to stop some people from thinking maybe Cullen is going to miraculously become a companion until they're told how it's going to be, one way or another. I think we've seen enough to understand that by now. lol
From what I've read so far,I believe it'll be better to just wait and see and not to take any kind of theories we make while excited seriously.Anticipation will be more and more intense the closer we get to the release date and speculating is only natural the more info we get, but still it's only speculation over analysing it or accepting it as a fact will lead in disappointment.
Devs have said several times that if people start using their offhanded comments in the wrong way, they'll just stop talking entirely. Silence is preferable if people are going to take developer comments in misleading directions.
May be it is better option. This fun has become confusing.
Lately this thread seems more like tangential overreactions quickly followed by another 3 posts that scold aforementioned overreactions and then 2 pages of everyone agreeing with the censuring before the next tangent starts.

Well in my opinion, trying not to overreact is the best solution if we want to avoid any kind of disappointment and prevent future complain threads from popping up when things turn out not to be as expected. I'm not talking about every single fan of course, but there still a noisy minority who tends to take it badly when their headcanon is "crushed"...At this point we should take pretty much any info with a grain of salt, since there are many details yet to be revealed.
Developing game series like DA and ME, series which can lead players to different canon due to their own decisions, can be quite frustrating. One misinterpretation fuels countless misunderstandings. People, please be grateful.
No devs beside Bioware do reveal information about their products. ![]()
I suggest developers just say who is in our party - this will calm people, no more speculations and seiges in twitter. And we will know what to wait without illusions.
And later tell us more about followers in companion's months.

I suggest to not keep the developers hostage like that just because people overreact.
If the developers would announce all companions right now, some will demand to be told even more about other areas of the game and the precedent will be set that complaining and overreacting to tweets or comments works.
Yeah the forum can go into full "THE SKY IS FALLING" mode really easily.
We are lucky that the devs do interact at all. I mean so many other game devs got fed up and left their own forums over the years that I applaud Bioware for trying to remain here.
