If we allow people to post to such a thread, people will discuss the tweets.

I dunno. If people want to read tweets, they could just join Twitter. It's a thing they could do. I'm certain that, if anything major comes up there, it will still be posted about here. We don't need a 1200-page thread for it.

I prefer that all of the twitter info be centralized into one thread rather than me having to join something I have no interst in joining or having to sift through countless other threads for every single tweet.

The only thing we have to start enforcing here is that adding your 2 cents to every single subject tweeted or some one else's comment is not helpful nor what the original intention of this thread is about.

For example: 5 pages of supernatural (the show) or Cullen fanboys/girls posting nothing but "squee" or a longer version of it.

I don't think it's worth it to shut down this thread because some people take information and run with it. That's always going to happen and if they set themselves up for disappointment, that's pretty much only their fault.

 

I'd say if the discussion is really getting troublesome, just change the rules in this thread and make it tweets only. I'm sure other threads will pop up to discuss them. As it is, I find this thread useful because having to stalk everyone on Twitter is far too much trouble.

 

I understand why you might want to shut it down, but for what it's worth I throw in my vote for keeping the Twitter thread alive.

Instead of closing down the thread, maybe some people should consider not jumping to conclusions and then presenting those conclusions as facts

Maybe we need a twitter group where we can dissect and inform about twitter comments in privacy without annoying developers or anyone else who gets annoyed.

 

The thing is though that most of the time there's nothing about them really requiring dissecting IMO? It's not some dan brown novel where if you arrange the tweets in some order you uncover the plot of the game. Like the 'cut' tweets, there's nothing sinister or special about a cut, apart from this particular instance being tweeted about. Cut content is unlikely to be something the end user will notice is missing or have known ever existed in the first place.

 

It's a bunch of people tweeting about their jobs because they are incorrigible teases, I don't think there's much to read into.

I wish this thread could stay ... It's been nice to read up what has happened, especially since I don't have Twitter (and also have no idea what I would be using it for, uh, besides stalking BioWare devs, of course).

 

But it's true that it seems to have got more ... heated here lately.

I think only posting tweets is a very good idea. If something new comes up within them, it can be added to existing threads or someone can make a new one. That preserves the information in one place, but also means the space between tweets isn't filled with arguments and speculation.

A lot of the discussion here is arguably redundant anyway - Cullen has at least three threads, there's one for release date speculation and a really long one about possible unrevealed companions.

I like what i saw in the combat video the spells looked and kinda "felt" AMAZING , i see alot of negativ responses about it on youtube though, but who cares, I like it

One thread for tweets and one thread for discussion of tweets would keep things contained.

My other suggestion would be for an extremely active twitter trawler to make the new thread and update the first post with new tweets - the rest of the thread could be discussion.

Either way, unstickying it isn't a negative thing. Stickied threads have an official air, and a bunch of fans rabidly speculating on tweets is the opposite of official.
