I guess it looks like whatever you want it to be. To my eyes it looks female.

The arms and legs are way too thick for a female. And that part of the armour is mainly material, not so bulked out as the metal parts.

The cover is beautiful, but I'll miss the whate-red-black covers (or grey-red-black in the case of my DAO collector's edition). I have the four boxes on a shelf together and they look like a set. Pity the fifth box won't fit in. But meh, I'll get over it.

My first impression was that it was male, but the longer I look at it, the more I can see hints either way (in the waist, hint of long hair...).

I feel like in choosing to once again use a human as the Default Protagonist Bioware might really be alienating their Qunari fanbase.

Also a warrior, so it basically looks like the male Inquisitor they've been using so far in the demo.

But at least there's some ambiguity there, and I think anecdotally people wanted ambiguity in gender more so than race or class.

(Cause it's really hard to make an Inquisitor with no discerning gender, racial OR class features without going abstract or making the character into a blob.)

Male or female, the inquisitor in the cover art is wearing heavy armor. There could be a curvy woman beneath all of that plate armor/padding/chainmail, but she'd still look pretty bulky while wearing it.

I think the Inquisitor looks too slim to be the average DA human male. I would have said it was either female or Elven if I was being honest.

The majority of people play humans.  They want the game to sell. That said I plan to play the other races but I see the logic in going this direction.
