Curious: was there any particular reason as to the redesign of dragons for Inquisition?
We had to remake them anyway, so we tweaked a bit.

With Cassandra saying thousands dead it doesn't look too good for characters like the Divine, Fiona, etc. Since the Inquisitor is the only survivor we'll know who is dying as soon as we start playing the prologue, everyone but the Inquisitor. Just hope your favourite characters are not there.
I mean, thousands. Unless it's a city like someone mentioned, that's a lot of people for peace talks. Even if the Chantry brought a lot of Revered Mothers and others, that's still gonna be a lot of high-ranking mages and Knight-Commanders gone. It might even make Cullen one of the highest ranking Templars left alive, and Cassandra the highest... ranking Seeker. Hmmm, Vivienne was going to be First Enchanter of Orlais.
You don't think? No... it's crazy. I smell a conspiracy. Most of our companions and allies are important but not at the very top of their organisations. Perhaps there is no one individual behind all of this, but a group of individuals! The end of the game could have this being revealed and the Inquisitor either sides with their companions or gets dealt with Julius Ceasar style. Et Tu, Varric?

Forgive the sarcasm, but I think that image of the DA companions is about as religious as the picture I just posted. The artists might not have fully realized what it looked like until it was too late. For now, let's tag that imagery as a little artistic shout-out and call it a day.

I should point out, religion has little to do with it. It is iconography of the image itself. The context is supposed to show importance for the person in charge, in the center, displaying power for those around them as well.
That is what makes it a powerful image. It doesn't have to be religious at all, despite BioWare sneaking in religious overtones in a lot of things.

Cloud was in no way 8-bit, nor was Ryu, I think. Which I am alright with, as he (Cloud) is my favorite video game character ever.
