Let's hope BioWare keeps the multiplayer and single player files separated somehow, so you can mod single player without touching multiplayer. That way there would hopefully not be any issues as long as you stuck to modding the SP part of the game.
As many people have said, DICE has really prided itself in the past on how little can be done to mod games created with the Frostbite 2 engine. If the engine developer boasts about how unmoddable their game is... how much hope should anyone really have the DA3 will have any sort of moddability at all?
Battlefield 2 modders managed to invest tons of effort and got to change the color pallete. If that's the extent of work-to-reward ratio, then I don't expect we should expect to see any mod content of any real value.

This makes me sad. What's the issue with modding anyway?

I don't know much about DICE's attitude to modding in general, but a more cynical person could believe that the ability to very easily modify or add new content could undermine the market for paid DLC. Not sure I totally buy into that conspiracy, though, if only because PC sales are at most (according to Blair Brown, I think?) about a third of Bioware's user base, and we could assume that those who actively use mods are a smaller (if vocal) fraction still.

@obsessedwjpn - DA3 has a late 2013 release still according to @Mike_Laidlaw yet no marketing done yet and only 9 or so months left. Wow. I am worried #DA3
@Mike_Laidlaw - Well, we're still working on it, so there's that.
@obsessedwjpn - I know that logically. I am just a little emotional right now v.v I want #DA3 to do well and I am ready to throw money at you!
@Mike_Laidlaw - I really appreciate that. But rest assured, things are shaping up fine.

Just heard BioShock Infinite has gone gold. Congrats Irrational Games! I'm really looking forward to playing it. Who else will be playing?
Are games that get released at the end of the year still contending for GOTY?
Also:
18. Feb. jake @JakeMachine7
@BioMarkDarrah is there any idea on a release for DA3? Please reply
19. Feb. Mark Darrah @BioMarkDarrah
@JakeMachine7 we aren't talking about that yet.

@Fenrir: So far no modding tools have been given out for any Frostbite-game. DICE even went as far as to say that modding with the Frostbite-engine is impossible, and then had modders banned straight away who proved DICE wrong with an color-changing mod (or whatever it exactly was).
My, those guys&girls at DICE were embarassed and pissed-off, LOL.
It *should* be possible to mod DAIII (depending also on the changes that Bioware has made to it to enable RPG-goodiness) but it might be very, very hard - and perhaps even obstructed by the ToU depending on which foul mood EA is in at that time.
I don't get why some people in the video game industry are so adamantly opposed to modding. An active modding community extends the life of games, extending the window of DLC viability. It makes very little sense from a business point of view to oppose modding. Modding is not pirating. Modding is not undercutting developers.
EA has moved away from free, user-generated content (mods) in favor of overpriced, underwhelming DLC. Greed has effectively killed modding on EA platforms.

Me? I'm just getting trucking on some cool DA3 stuff. Pretty exciting times. How's Montreal?

With Mass Effect's big DLC announcement today (Thursday), I can't help but be excited thinking that maybe there will be something about Dragon Age for Friday.

That's too bad. It looks like this final DLC is the last we'll get to see of him, at least for a long while.
Ah man Jos, you are making me all teary eyed.
Though I think Jos is really referencing all the stuff that he put into the DLC, but passed to me for bug fixing. Jos moved projects a tad before we locked down the DLC, so I became virtual-Jos for a week or two. And yes, that stuff is pretty fantastic IMHO.

Although I greatly appreciate that you picked up my stuff when I went on vacation, I meant the work that you've been doing behind the scenes. Most of it is stuff nobody will ever see or know about, but it is still great work.

Or you could just talk about it, and then people will know about it, and then they can appreciate Dusty even more for it.Jos Hendriks wrote...

You just don't want people to like Dusty. That's what's really going on here.
Based on what Dusty's said elsewhere, you should just call him the "glue that brought everything together and keeps it in place", even if he would shy from that distinction. :-)
