Fancy street. Definitely Val Royeaux. Denerim and Halamshiral possible. Chances low for Cumberland.

Right now Halamshiral seems like the best possibility for a large city. Val-Royeaux closed its gates, so we aren't going to go in it any time soon and Cumberland is in Nevarra and we aren't going there.

I wouldn't rule out Val Royeaux out of hand. It's apparently where the remnants of Chantry leadership are gathering to choose a new Divine and still a bastion of power in the region. I wouldn't be surprised if we visited.

I thought this "street" might be leading to  the Winter Palace.

In the official site , they added "The Winter Palace, by far the most prominent structure in Halamshiral, becomes a regular seasonal retreat for the empress and selected Orlesian nobility." on the timeline.

I'm still not sure we're going to visit big cities.

It sounds like a classic game location to me - it clearly screams "place with problems that need solving by the hero!" :)

Maybe Val-Royeaux would be like the alienage in DAO - Closed off at first, but it would later open up, maybe thanks to the actions or growing influence of the inquisitor.

I'll be disappointed if we don't visit Val-Royeaux, especially with all the information we've had on it through the books.

I'm willing to bet the "dancing scene" in the other trailer was in Val Royeaux.

Then again, that's just an impression moved by wishful thinking.

I highly doubt we wouldn't go to Val Royeaux.

For me it's Celene's winter palace near Halamshiral

(very small, practically harmless spoiler) In Dragon Age: Asunder it is revealed that

Spoiler

Although I must say it'd be kind of a letdown if we don't have at least have one major city as a hub, where we could do stuff like shop, do chanter's board quests, visit prominent characters that can't be seen dealing with the inquisitor etc.

I can't see the Orlesian civil war ending without Val'Royeaux being included someone. If we kill Gaspard and Celene remains empress, for example, I can't see her continuing to sit around the Winter palace, rather than returning to the capital.

Unless they just leave the game altogether at that point, and the coronation/ reclaim of power happens off-screen.

That'd feel kinda anti-climatic, though.

Something I am interested in knowing is which factions will be nemesises with each other. I mean like how the dalish in DA:O were enemies with the werewolves, Bhelen with Harrowmont etc. We know that there'll be mages and templars, but I'm unsure if the templars will be an actual faction that can join you, or if they've been swallowed by the red templars completely. Similar with the orlesian civil war, where I thought it'd only be between Gaspard and Celene, but some article stated that if you help the orlesians you'll lose reputation with the dalish (or something along those lines). Perhaps I've just misunderstood how that works, but the way I interpreted it was that if we help either Celene or Gaspard we won't be able to ally with the dalish (or at least have a harder time doing so). Could be totally wrong, though.

Maybe Val Royeaux will unlock once we reach a specific level or plot in the storyline.

I bet we could go to the streets and markets and stuff, but the palace gates wouldn't open until we were very notable.

There is a personal message feature to this forum. Please start using it for such things.

Atleast it was Twitter related.

Can't say that about all the stuff you were going on about

I imagine Vivienne would be able to get us in.

Indeed. Although I'd like an option to just blow down the gates/Cass break em' down if Celene refused to see us.

There is also an ignore feature. It's rather useful if you don't care for what someone is saying.

Also, writing in smaller text doesn't come off as cute or endearing.

As much as I'd love to see a large city in Frostbite, the PAX/Digiexpo gameplay demo seemed to imply that your various Keeps will function as city hubs instead.  :pinched:

I agree with this sentiment please go to your separate corners and take a breather.  If you wish to continue take it elsewhere.
