Changed the "we shouldn't expect any info until spring 2013" in the first post to "at the earliest", since apparently I didn't realise that spring was just a likely estimate, not a confirmed date - and the last thing I want is to accidentally spread misinformation around.

Basically: Chris Priestly's guess of spring 2013 as a likely reveal date (at the earliest!) still stands, but he did make that prediction four months ago and it's not a guarantee of seeing anything in spring. The reveal date seems to be very up in the air at the moment.

Well they can still reveal the game between April/June.
But less than 6 months of promotion would seems a bit strange.

I was a little surprised seeing him tweet that some 20mins or so after I posted what I posted. Am I an odd person for going "he just maaay have lurked the twitter thread and gotten reminded of said thread after I linked it" in my head? ;D

Of course, given StarlightArcher's amazing "1 to Isabela" comment, the mind wanders to the line easily =) Didn't somebody in the #writerspit get that Isabela picture on a tshirt or something?

Microsoft just booked a day in April to host an event. There's a high chance that's where they'll show off the Durango, and there's also a high chance BioWare will not show off DA3 before the Durango is shown to the public if it's indeed going to be on that console.

What's more, I have a personal theory since the PS4 event. EA was mysteriously not at the event at all, even though they usually end up at every little event everywhere - to miss out on such an important evening is unlike them. Chances are that Microsoft has paid good money to keep EA's mouths quiet about their PS4 support, so the Durango reveal can show a first look at every single next-gen EA title in development. This could include DA3, among many others.

Of course this is just me theorycrafting~~

I guess we have to wait till late Spring/Early Summer for a bit more news on DA:I

EA's Big hitters are Madden, Fifa and BF4 so I doubt DA3 will be shown at the Djurango announcement. Im hoping for GDC.

I'd find it pretty odd if they have any big name BioWare people going to PAX in a BioWare capacity and they possibly hold any DA talk where they cannot talk about the game "officially." Unless the game is being delayed out of this year, the absolute latest they'd announce is E3 in early June.  It would just seem truly bizarre for BioWare to have any notable PAX presence and not be able to officially discuss DA3 and then turn around and announce it in the next month or 2.

Of any EA nextgen games, I'm going to guess Battlefield 4 will be unveiled first. As of late January/early February when EA had their last financial conference call, they made note that they would be unveiling BF4 in the next 90 days, so that would put them to the end of April/early May. Based on tweets from EA and Gamestop's CEO and a statement from Frank Gibeau, EA just recently showed off footage of Battlefield 4 to about 500 Gamestop store managers. While its not Dragon Age, it might be informative or at least interesting to see BF4 footage, considering that its Frostbite 2 and would be the first time we'd be able to see Frostbite 2 making use of nextgen/high end PC hardware.

Isn't there something that happens soon after PAX? E3?

E3 isn't until early June.

The next thing would possibly be Microsoft's reveal of the Durango, which could be in April.

DA3 might just be released in 2015. Similar thing happened with ME3, it was supposedly ready for release in 2011, but was pushed to 2012 so it wouldn't compete with Skyrim. Now it'll either be pushed further or brought forward and released 2013 before The Witcher 3, or in 2015 after TW3.

I'm quickly losing faith and interest. The theory that they can't reveal the game because it's next-gen holds no water. Watchdogs was revealed last summer and that's next-gen. And Sony just unveiled their next-gen console, so what's Bioware waiting for then? Saying that PAX is too early to show anything pretty much cements my fears that development is way behind schedule and possibly not going well. I want the game to be good, but at this point I have no reason to be hopeful.
