We've seen art of different Vivienne outfits, if I recall, but I'm pretty sure our companions' outfits can be changed and updated throughout the game. Solas is just the first to give us an in-game look at it.

The only thing I can vaguely recall is that it might've come up in one of those perennial "playersexual romance" threads that keep appearing on the forum - in that scenario, it might've been used as an example of a storyline that works better with purely s/s options.

 

But I'm not confident that something like that even happened (and if it did, I wouldn't know where to begin looking for it) - certainly, I think there would've been way more of a hubbub on the BSN if David had ever said he was writing a "coming out" plot for a character.

 

He did in fact mention such as an example of the opportunities that open up with a spread of sexual orientations. I'm thinking maybe in the big forum reply he reposted on Tumblr? Well, somewhere here and/or there at least. Nothing along those lines has been confirmed for DA:I, though.

Cassandra have been seen in various outfits. She seems to have 2 standard look though, one with the tabard and another one for heavier armor, but there is variation under those.

Yeah, I'd heard they would be able to change clothes. I just hadn't noticed anyone in different outfits before. I guess Cassandra has and I didn't notice, though.

 

I wonder if the clothing changes will be tailored to the companion's individual style, or if they will totally change like armors have done in the past. It would be somewhat interesting to see if Vivienne reacted to being dressed in total rags, for example. lol

I'm pretty sure they said it is both. You can customize them, but they will always keep their own "flair".

Not to put too fine a point on it, but the devs have been known to deny something flat out, even as they knew it was in the game. I'm talking of course about the races reveal, when some devs insisted there would only be one race almost to the very day in which it was revealed there would be three.

 

Now, personally I do not believe Nevarra and the FM would be in the game, but I can see why other people would suspect otherwise (even though I think they are prepping themselves for disappointment).

 

The races came in as a result of the time extension.  For the vast bulk of the discussion regarding races, human was the only one and was so until we learned we were getting another year on the game.

 

But yeah, if we've communicated it one way and we get new news that changes that, I won't change how that is communicated until it's been officially announced.
