Went home at normal time today. Inbox exploded after I left. Lesson to self, never ever go home.
Half a day trying to figure out why an appearance wasn't updating... only to have someone point out the "Appearance Override". I'm an idiot.

Watch him be like, "What? I don't understand. I've played the game, now what's all this huff about Cullen?"
I think we sometimes forget he's a pretty minor character in DA:O ![]()
He might enjoy DA2 more really. Cullen is more integrated into the plot more.
Well it could be a metaphor for how our companions turn out or it is just a very convenient way of showing 13 characters from the front in one shot.
Though I'm not a big fan of taking the reference literally, the metaphore approach doesn't sound crazy.
If I take Cole, for instance, it could only mean that he's not what it seems. Not a neon sign saying "Don't trust this guy."
Actually, GE should play Awakening, since he voiced Anders and has a ton of lines in that expansion. Then he can play DA2 and complain about how they "butchered" his character. ![]()
I don't understand all this Cole talk tbh. As far as I know, Mike only said that someone from Asunder will APPEAR in DA:I, he didn't say that character will be a companion. For all we know, Cole is just one of the possibilities, and that character could appear as a npc quest giver. The ugly rogue dude in trailer could be a brand new character even. Unless someone from BioWare already confirmed it or something, I think we are just setting ourselves up for a massive disappointment here.

I think we're all assuming it's Cole because he's in the survey and there hasn't been the barest hint of a whisper that it's anyone else. Same with Dramatic Hands Moustache Guy being assumed to be Dorian.
Personally, I wouldn't mind if they turned out to be other people entirely, but until we have further information these seem like fairly solid guesses.
I think the chances that the blond rogue aren't Cole are pretty slim. He fits the general description of Cole. We had the leaked survey saying that Cole would be a rogue. It's possible he's not, but I think it's unlikely.
I don't think he's necessarily even in the Judas position in that shot, though. It could as easily be Solas or Varric, with the way they're positioned in comparison to the poses in the painting. To me, it seems more like Cole is in the Peter position and likely Solas is in the Judas position.

Nah, it's Cole. He was in the survey as a companion, and literally everything else in that survey has turned out to be true. Seems like it really was too late to change the companion roster when that was leaked in late 2012.
Is it at all likely that there's *another* young blond rogue floating around, when we know Cole was said to be a rogue?

The comparisons to the Last Supper are getting annoying.
The comparisons to the Last Supper are getting annoying.
While it's somewhat annoying, that article has some good points as to why it might be like the Last Supper. Some of the descriptions compared to what we know about the characters seem spot on. But then again it's still all grasping at whatever seems to correlate.
I swear, if the character corresponding to Judas in that article betrays my inquisitor I will be livid. That character is one of the ones I'm most looking forward to!
The Last Supper imagery is probably a nod to the themes that will be in the game more than anything else. Also the core of the game's plot kinda sounds like DA: DaVinci Code. ![]()

Eh, I think it's just a joke.
I'm not sure why this character would do that.
The Last Supper stuff was just a morale stunt to keep the developer's spirits high by watching the same brand of well-to-do Tinfoil hats that came up with the Indoctrination Theory spin more entertaining nonesense.
That's my take on it.

Please no more messianic protagonists! I'm Sheparded out!

I'm slightly more open minded now.CONSIDERING EVERYTHING FROM THE SURVEY HAS CONTINUED TO BECOME 100% TRUTH
So I wouldn't write it off imidiately

You mean more than the "savior of the world" thing, right? Because we're having that.

They've said there's some kind of religious fervour created when we walk out of the Fade with a glowy hand, but that analogue/trope can easily be subverted. It wouldn't take much for that Christ-comparison to evaporate if we start running around terrorising villagers or whatever.
(... and I don't think Jesus was that skilled with a greatsword.)
Since the game is apparently about lots of player agency, I hardly think they'd mandate the Inquisitor to be any one thing, outside maybe some crucial plot elements.
... and desperation.
Be nice. They are just as entitled to their interpretation as you are to yours.
