I actually remember spending more on a videogame as a kid than I do now, so I can understand the need to increase prices. Strange to see people getting upset about this while the cost of going to the movies (and pretty much everything else) has doubled since then.

Well the difference is that wages aren't keeping up with the increasing costs of living like they were back then...

I guess that would vary depending on where you are. Industrialized nations on the whole have seen a small but steady increase in the discretionary income (mostly due to food prices being lower) over the years.

Ha, rouge talent tree. Perhaps this is the new and improved cc, at level 7 and 14 you get to choose a new nose, ears, haircolor and matching makeup kit.

Doesn't matter, simple fact is, games are cheaper now than they were 5 or 10 years ago when you adjust for inflation. So a price hike to help offset rising development costs is understandable and completely reasonable.

Not to mention that government and corporate benefits have steadily increased as well, in terms of actual dollars paid. If you have, for instance, health insurance through your government or through the company you work for, they are paying much more to cover you than they were ten years ago. If they had instead just paid that difference to you in wages, it would have resulted and allowed for a pretty substantial wage increase. It would have also resulted in lower health quality (not to mention lower recruitment rates and lower tax incentives for the companies), so they pay more in healthcare coverage instead.

If you are working the mines in sub-Saharan Africa, then I agree that wages have been locked for quite a long time with no benefit. But if that's the case, you probably couldn't afford internet connections, let alone a video game.

Just to give some perspective, at least. If you want to make more money so that you can buy video games, donate money to finding cures for diabetes, heart disease and obesity. If those three things were cured tomorrow, worldwide healthcare expenses would drop by half, easily, and there would be plenty more money for everyone.

It's #DA3 #SprintReviewDay tomorrow. I had better start coming up with some vague, teasing tweets about DA3 progress...

I love tweets developers but it is the powder that throws us in the face and I'll explain simply. DA Inquisition was officially announced in September 2012 there are five months. And since nothing! No teaser, no trailer, no revelation of the future hero and companions. Its beginning to be brief TOO long. We'll have to wait until E3???? TOO LONG

PS: Sorry for my English again .....

I agree.

It's been very long and the wait is seriously killing me. I'm not asking for a full reveal. Maybe just a teaser screenshot or less...some details on anything really.

Oh well. Hopefully when it is revealed, it will be grand. I just hope it's before E3. June is so far away.

People, we're all biting our nails waiting for some solid information, but as devs have stated repeatedly, that'll only come when they're ready to show something (I for one am glad they're taking their time, despite my impatience).

Our pleas aren't going to speed up time or make BioWare throw a presentation together before they're ready, so until such a time as they are ready to show something, best just to carry on as we have been, however interminable that may seem at times.

Patience is, after all, a virtue :)

EDIT: Grrr, ninja'd by Zombie_Alexis ;)

BioWare is EA. The BioWare DNA may still be present, but if EA gives BioWare a direct mandate, they can hardly turn around and say, "No." Regardless, I have high hopes for Inquisition.

Not sure if these are all DA3 related, but they worth posting simply for the mental images they might conjure:

David Gaider:
Me: "Lesbians LOVE whales!" @Sylvf1: "Good God, don't tweet that!" #WritersPit

Sylvf:
@davidgaider Again: Clearly not an exclamation ending that sentence. I was using a weary period mark.

David Gaider:
@Sylvf1 Very well. In the future, whenever I quote you, you shall speak like an Elcor.

Mike Laidlaw:
@davidgaider @Sylvf1 With weary resignation, I'm sure she'll appreciate the accuracy.

Jos Hendriks:
You know what's great? Revelations at work that result in high five moments. Right now is one of those moments.

Cameron Lee:
Everyone should have the experience of @Mike_Laidlaw jumping on a box in front of their desk and pelvis thrusting. Made my day!

Just one of the many visual representations of wage stagnation for the majority of 1st world nations.  Combine this with the very real fact that the average citizen is paying more expenses than any other time in history: cell phone, internet at home, internet on phone, car insurance, health insurance, utilities, and Xbox live for some poor saps.  You can see that simply raising prices instead of finding a more economical way to make games benefits the companies and not the average consumer.  This is the U.S.A. perspective and yes it varies a bit between countries (for example, some have government provided internet), but increased cost of living and stagnating wages is a pretty universal problem right now in developed countries.  Meanwhile total wealth (and specifically corporate profits) is at an all time high.

And don't even get me started on healthcare in the U.S.  Sure insurance is paying for more and more costs, but why are those frickin' costs so high to begin with?  I'll give you a hint: it's not because the hospitals and medical field want to make LESS money.

You do realize that the graph is from 2008 the WORST year of the recession right?
