Seeing as we have a GW on our team, I would say that sounds highly possible.
Considering the concept art in which Grey Warden Feathers tears a chain from his own neck with the GW symbol, I think it's more likely he's a defector from the Grey Wardens.
Part of why I was interested in the picture, and even if he was dead I always got the impression Darkspawn were always changing/evolving.
Yeah, even if you kill him it seems like he's already done a lot of research into female darkspawn specifically, considering the Mother and Utha and all and you don't get the chance to destroy his notes

It's going to get complicated between the darkspawn , the ghouls , the dead who rise because spirits are passing through the tear, and mummies.
Oh well , the landscape around Adamant Fortress isn't welcoming ...And I'm pretty sure there's something bad down that chasm.
Maybe a sleeping Archdemon.

because they might be an expendable first offense once they outlive their use, though I wouldn't know what to think seeing as how darkspawn hive minds are scattered, unless they're rallying with something sentient
I hope we find out what they're doing instead of follower Fridays prior to E3
I wouldn't be surprised if we don't really get much info other than the images and questions they have been posting (who is your fav? etc). They could stretch that out until E3, though I hope we get some info before that.

I don't remember there being any deserts in Fereldan. The Adamant Fortress sounds much more plausible.
Well in DA2 the area of Lothering during the Blight looks like this.
Because of this image and because the post is about the Grey Wardens and Darkspawn I think it could be Blight devestated Ferelden.

It looks very similar to the region around Adamant described in Asunder.
The Grey Wardens have an old fortress there, and there's a chasm in the ground that's described in the same way as that picture.
The area around Ferelden is not really a desert - it's a Blighted wasteland. Rocky and grey, rather than sandy.

I thought the same thing, but that wall is huge and the Adamant fortress seemed smaller to me. Hmm... *dons speculation cap*

That doesn't answer the question one way or the other at all. All that says is that the Mother gives birth to Children. It doesn't say that other brood mothers DON'T give birth to Children. I'd be highly surprised if only sentient brood mothers gave birth to them...

It makes sense for their armor to be so thrown together as well. I always felt DAO's Darkspawn looked too well put together for crazy, blood thirsty creatures.
