Seriously, what's the point of those vertical spikes? Lightning conductors?
I'm gonna assume to discourage a dragon sitting on it. I'm also going to assume from those screenshots with the dragon on the fortress that looks like this, that they were not effective.

They could be Griffon launching points.
They could be Griffon launching points.
In the days of yore when griffons were plentiful, the wardens used to launch their chosen sacrifices at the Archdemon from long distances, using force-mage mass driver technology. The griffon would generally wake up from the concussion and start trying to fly on it's own after a few hundred miles.

Just replace the pic of the plane with a pic of a griffon.

I honestly think it's more likely that they're just stylish (i.e. to look 'badass'), but that's me.
Would be cool if they had some sort of express purpose.
Maybe some dragons (or archdemons) are vampires, and need huge stakes launched through their hearts...
EDIT: I just found out that today is the anniversary of the novel "Dracula"

I would say that the spikes are there to look threatening, but would Darkspawn care about that sort of thing?

Let's have discussion of the caption in a different thread. Thanks!
Better yet, let's stop posting the caption pictures on this thread.
I don't mind the caption pictures as long as they're from DA:I, which this one appears to be. The posts like "Who is your favorite elf?" should probably be left to other threads, though.
Honestly, I'm more curious about who that man is rather than what he's saying. Are he and his friends part of our Inquisition forces, or are they members of a friendly/enemy faction? Have we seen characters in that style of outfit before?

They are on-topic, and there are people who only check the twitter thread, so I think they should be posted here.
Creating separate discussion threads was a good idea though. That said, there are a lot tweets that generate discussion that really should also drive to create new threads.
