True, though the templars being extreme was more apparent since DA2 while the crazy mages everywhere is a newer thing.

It's a letter to Teagan and I'm pretty sure "Duchess" is a horse.

If Alistair is on the throne then didn't Eamon give the Arlship to Teagan so he could help Alistair in Denerim?  So that'd make sense why the former horse lord wrote to Teagan

Well I don't really wanna imagine anything with Teagan , Isolde and a saddle.

Although horses used to be a myth in Ferelden until DAI ,so  who knows.

Just as a general knowledge thing (and maybe I'm just taking a joke seriously... if so, WHOOPS! ), reminding someone not to let their horse puff out during saddling is a savvy thing. Some horses will suck in a deep breath to expand their ribcage area while you're tightening the saddle. That prevents you from fully tightening it, which I am sure makes the horse more comfortable and easier time breathing, but can result in the saddle slipping sideways and/or under the horse with YOU on it.

true story.....I had that happen to me. Thankfully I landed in sand when I fell off.

 

that would be funny if that could happen with your Inquisitor.....if you pick a qunari elf or dwarf.....I can see them not understanding the finer points of saddling a horse.

City elves might have saddled a horse because nobles certainly aren't saddling their own horses, but Dalish elves don't saddle Halla so they wouldn't understand it.
