Glad to see Redcliffe return.
I wonder how damaged it will appear as a result of the darkspawn attacks in DA:O. Maybe not so much considering it's been a while.
I don't remember Redcliffe being destroyed by Darkspawn...no?
I think the town suffered a small attack while the horde was busy marching on Denerim?

It's strange to see Redcliffe so green and lush.
"The dirt and mud gave it character"
But those trees do look beautiful

Redcliffe
http://www.dragonage.../news/redcliffe
King Calenhad Theirin once famously declared, "The fate of Redcliffe is the fate of all Ferelden." Certainly, the castle is the first and last defense for the sole land route into Ferelden, and the country has never fallen to any force that did not first capture Redcliffe.
The castle, which despite being three times captured is popularly described as "unassailable," also guards one of the largest and most prosperous towns in Ferelden. Redcliffe village is well situated near the mountain pass to Orzammar and the Orlesian border, and so serves as a center of foreign trade. For these reasons, Redcliffe is accounted an arling despite the smallness of the domain.
The inhabitants of Redcliffe village are primarily fishermen or merchants who ship dwarven goods through the pass from Orlais to Denerim. When the entire village smells of smoked fish on certain late-autumn mornings, the merchants in their finery do their utmost to pretend otherwise.

Very interesting! It appears Orzammar continues to trade with the surface whether Bhelen or Harrowmont is crowned. Thanks for this! ![]()

I think we might see some folks from Lothering at Redcliffe too.
Dear Leandra:
Things are slowly getting back to normal in most parts of the country, but Lothering is gone for good. We had hoped to rebuild there, but the Blight poisoned the land. It'll take decades for the earth to recover. It may never.
Redcliffe is a nice place, and I'm starting to see it as home. The village saw some trouble during the Blight, but it's recovering. Perhaps you could visit sometime.
Please write me again, my dear. I wish to hear about your life in Kirkwall. Send my regrets and fond regards to the children.
Your friend,
Miriam

You're right it wasn't 'destroyed', but there was some damage. Probably not enough, though.

I was thinking the same thing. MAGIC!

I don't remember Redcliffe being that pretty! Clearly the Warden dropped some acid on his way into town.

It looks great and it's exciting that we will be able to re-visit Redcliffe. I wonder how it will look if we chose to abandon it.

They actually posted some screenshots and concept art of the design of Redcliffe about six months ago during the Christmas update:

Are Bioware's artists incapable of creating round and curved architecture?

Or the people in Redcliffe rebuilt it which seems more plausible.
Regardless, it looks A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Is it October yet?

Sucks that the Redcliffe castle is now blocky and angular.
Are Bioware's artists incapable of creating round and curved architecture?
It wasn't before? Blocky is honestly what I expect of Ferelden

Can't wait to revisit Redcliffe with the Inquisition. I bet players will be presented with different dialogue depending on how their Warden handled the Redcliffe scenario, so it should be extra interesting. Will be great to visit the location with the Inquisition, particularly if we have Leliana at our Keep at this stage of the game.

Redcliffe Awesome. I think Redcliffe is the place where we meet Alistair as King or as Drunkard.
Also i hope that we get Connor, Isolde and of course Bella as Cameo.
But Mayor Murdock isn´t likely to come back because his voice actor was Robin Sachs (Rest in Peace Robin)
