So do you guys think that the whole week of Dragon Age that Bioware is promising us at E3 is gonna be the thing that replaces "Follower Fridays?" Dare I hope that every day we'll get new companion info??

Well, there are 9 followers counting the advisers that they have yet to really reveal, so if they do 2 a day it is certainly possible.

Doubtful...

The original plan was to do one a month until release, and there's still four months until release. I don't seem them revealing every single companion at this point just because they can.

Besides, the thing that replaced Follower Fridays (RIP March-March) seems to be the social media posts, which are coming every few days instead of every few weeks. They're starting with environments, but it'll possibly move to companions eventually.

Yeah I agree. This is probably more likely.

Redcliffe

Certainly, the castle is the first and last defense for the sole land route into Ferelden...

Could somebody please explain how the route through castle Redcliffe is the *sole* land route to Ferelden? Judging by the map one could easily go north of Lake Calenhad on the Imperial Highway and leave Redcliffe along with its castle way south...

I'm hoping the Inquisition map resolves this issue. Adding a road to Redcliff or something

As far as reveals go, I'd love to get a vid, gameplay or otherwise, where I can clearly hear each of the companions speak, minus the ones whose VAs we already know. I'd then happily spend the next four months trying to figure out who voiced whom, even if I end up being wrong. VA speculation is just full of good times.

I've only ever heard Vivienne (I think?) speak and she sounded like Carolyn Seymour. Unless I'm right (I'm never right), I'm gonna say my ears were playing tricks on me.

Anyway, I'm hoping Stephane Cornicard and Robin Atkin Downes voice at least one of our male companions. I dunno, maybe I'm just pushing for Beardy to be Stroud. Seriously, who doesn't want a sexy Orlesian Grey Warden male companion who sounds like a dead but once sexy Orlesian Grey Warden? ... Okay, that came out all sorts of creepy. *clears throat* As for RAD, I can see him voicing Cole, or maybe Solas. Not sure who I can see voicing Iron Bull or "Dorian." *ponders*

The location of Denerim was 100% incorrect in Dragon Age: Origins, maybe they made the same blunder with Redcliffe? (Denerim was far too south on the bloodstain/cigar burn map)

Funny story - we were doing a test run in a particular level to make sure one of the quests within it was working. As we were travelling through a mountain pass, we noticed that one of our party was suddenly missing and was losing health. A LOT of health.

We spun the camera round but couldn't see where our party member was, or where the damage was coming from. Then we heard it - the most earth shattering scream/roar the audio department have ever created.

Now... anyone who's familiar with physics (or Terry Pratchett) will know that an off screen dragon is neither dead or alive - but when we finally party switched to our missing member, this one was absolutely FURIOUS.

To answer your question - yes. Dragons are bigger. Much bigger. They're also one of the most primal, aggressive and terrifying things you'll encounter...

...that we've announced, anyhow  ;)

Hmm...

*Starts looking for an big, big sword to decapicate dragons and store their heads as an trophy in his keep*

BTW... That's some annoying clipping issue you encountered in Q&A right there LOL. Just wondering... did said partymember happen to walk close to the side (next to either an mountain or an cliff)? Because then I can imagine that with an clipping/positioning issue the system had to decide where to put the party member, and put it on the wrong side...

Edit: Also, I guess the party member did activate the area where the dragon was, so the dragon was no longer considered off-screen ;)

Maybe it's meant metaphorically? It's just too important to ignore? If not the map must've been changed for DA:I.

Well looking at the dragon age website map it seems the imperial highway is still there to the north of lake Calenhad.

It also looks to be a quicker route to Denerim than going south to Redcliffe. Also Redcliffe is hardly the sole land route into Ferelden as describe in the latest post about Redcliffe on the dragon age site. http://www.dragonage.../news/redcliffe

Doesn't quite add up at the moment, but maybe some clever writing can fix the error hopefully.

Spoiler

That would be a good reason for the current events happening in Thedas.

But the post make it sound as if it always been the sole land route into Ferelden and that armies need to capture it in order to move further in Ferelden which wouldn't make sense looking at the map as you could just go north to avoid it. The breaches are only happening now so what was stopping them before that?

if you are invading ferelden and just go straight to denerim from north route you will soon find that ferelden forces will flank you from redcliffe.

just saying.....

The Redcliffe codex isn't new though. It's probably from DAO, since I knew already that Redcliffe was described as Ferelden's first and last defence, and that nobody conquered Ferelden withou conquering Redcliffe first.

That could work but that make's Redcliffe just a barracks for when an army invades basically. Another thing to consider you won't have merchant going the long way south through Redcliffe to trade in Denerim when they could easily go north which would be easier coming from Orlais and Orzammar which are more north.

If Denerim was more south then as a merchant I'd see the need to go there but as the map looks now it's easier going north, Just my opinion.

The northern route cuts directly through the mountains (Orzammar is right there). While it may be possible for individuals or small groups to traverse a mountain pass, marching an army along one is another matter.
