It's winter for me! I've got about two weeks left of exams, and then three weeks of holidays.

 

 

She's an anthropology major, anyway. Ours is a never-ending exercise in learning.

The Frostbite engine doesnt have anything to do with the creation of art assets. It's not like the engine can only support blocky and angular meshes. 

 

This was purely a design choice, not a technical limitation.

 

Actually, in part it does. Blocky assets require less polygons to render. Less polygons means less resources tied up which means you can draw more individual assets. Something important for a game that focuses heavily on military actions.

 

Ken Levine of Bioshock/Infinite said the same thing about the art transition from Rapture to Columbia. Rapture had very angular Art Deco style, which made it a lot easier to optimize levels... The Art Nouvaeu style of Columbia, focusing on flowing natural curves is largely responsible for the "Backdrop" syndrome of that game, when in most of the game assets are background and non-interactive or even approachable.
