I've been flying between continents the last few days so missed the sprint review day, great to have the tweets here to read back over. Anything big recently that counts as news for the thread title or OP?

There was a PAX-East-Maybe tweet late in the day.. and lots of space monkeys.

I'm getting a bit lost about PAX East now....

BioWare only panel is about Mass Effect (and it's a looking back at type of panel), but Mike Laidlaw and Mark Darrah are going it seems, so it mean we might get interviews about DA3. Don't expect any gameplay or screenshots though.

I cannot tell you Bioware just how much this makes me happy. DAO was and still is to this day my favorite RPG. Better than skyrim better than anything i have seen and played. I bought all the DLC for DAO then....DA2 came out i bought it because i love this world and then my heart was crushed and destroyed. My hope for DA3 is so high and just *sigh* dont give us another EA game. we want a BIOWARE GAME!!!!

BioWare is EA. The BioWare DNA may still be present, but if EA gives BioWare a direct mandate, they can hardly turn around and say, "No." Regardless, I have high hopes for Inquisition.

yeah i know. still i hope EA backs off this one and lets Bioware work its magic.Image IPB

"Most combat designers are incapable of standing still when describing a spell or ability. This is a very good thing. #sprintreviewday"

Jazz hands and arm waving and jumping jacks?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

New feature: All sound effects (sword swinging/bow shooting/chanting/skills/magic) will now be "Voice Acted" by combat designer team (CDT). Several small windows at the bottom of the screen can be added from the gameplay menu. Experience CDT's reenactment of those sound effects using body movements and hand gestures to enhance your game immersion. :D

Old joke, but still...

It was so short in DA 2 and I thought the quest was interesting so I didn't mind it. In DA:O I didn't hate it and I actually found the fade portion in Awakening engaging but it's the same thing I have with the deep roads, it's becoming such an overused motif and it seems incredibly improbable that every PC who makes a major impact on Thedosian history ends up visiting BOTH the fade and the deep roads by default.

I loved the Fade in DA:O, it was unique, strange and eerie. It really helped setting the tone of the game for me, since I was a mage and did the Harrowing. In DA2 it wasn't as fun because it was just a foggy/blurred part of the world.
If it turns out to be a DA:O's Fade like experience, I'll be happy.

Well, the atmosphere it set in DA:O was great for the first ~2 playthroughs (at least for me). But then it just started being annoying for me >< So I guess it will be great in DA:I at first, depending on how the fade will look like. Just like you said, in DA2 it wasn't really outstanding, to say the least.

'twas awesome the first time, not the second time 'round. I don't mind it really, it's just a very, very, VERY long level. Much like the Deep Roads but alot less simpler.

I also love the Deep Roads and was quite happy with its long... errr... length!

In truth, I love almost everything about DA:O. Except how much of a freaking mess it is on the PS3 on a technical level. A jerky, stuttering and long loading mess. Still played it for nearly 100 hours though.

I agree that I hope the Fade experience will be more like DA:O. It was one of my favorite parts of the game. I thought it was a really challenging and inventive puzzle, and playing as a mage and going through the Harrowing made the experience even more fun.

I thought the Fade part in DAII seemed like a waste, though; it didn't have the same feeling of being in another world, and I didn't find the quest to be very involving.

If it's going to be like DA:O, I can't wait to go back, but if it's more like DAII then I'll probably think of it as just another level. There's more to the Fade than blurry walls!

I really enjoyed the fade in Dragon Age: Origins and it took many playthrough for me to get tired of it, although I do wish we'd get a fade adventure more like the one in The Calling.

In origins when you visit your companions dreams you can't see what they see, you just saw a barren little island, whereas in The Calling when we visit others fade illusions/dreams you actually get to see the dream. So you see the city, the cabin, the fort, the cellar that is the persons dream space, which was so much cooler.

I'd love it if, when we visited the fade again, they made the puzzle part shorter and the dream parts longer and more detailed.

I hope the Fade is more like the one in The Calling instead of blurry little islands. I love the details and locations. Like the description of Duncan's dream or Genevieve's. That would be much more awesome and interesting to play through ^_^
