Well that PAX demo from a while back showed that different races had different last names(dwarves were Cadash, for example)

That's possible but not likely. That would require recording every line of dialog that references your last name 4 times over. That or the far less optimal way or having every VA record saying the last names multiple times to then be sliced into dialog that uses it which in itself is likely not easy, but then you'd likely come across many instances where the break in dialog seems unnatural or the way the name is said doesn't match the rest of the VO. Either way it seems like a lot of work for little gain when simply using "Inquisitor" will satisfy most people.

 

 

Plus I don't know about you but Cadash, Adaar, Lavellan and Trevelyan don't exactly roll of the tongue or feel like all that great a nickname like Shepard does.

Man. DAI, Uncharted 4, possibly an ME4 reveal, Zelda, X, Battlefront, possibly an Amy Hennig Star Wars game reveal, MGSV, FFXV, Smash, remakes of my favorite generation of Pokemon. It's like the stars aligned just right to make me finally really, really anticipate an E3 again.

Add Hyrule Warriors and SMT x Fire Emblem, and I am in Total agreement.

Being called Inquisitor, or by any of those last names, sounds a lot cooler than being called Elli anyhow. The only time it gets weird is romance scenes, but they can fix that with pet names.

The news is dire. There are rumours that our Warden brothers and sisters in Ferelden have all perished. Without the Grey Wardens, the Blight will take Ferelden. The it will undoubtedly spread. It will go north to Nervarra and then the Marches. It will come west to Orlais. At the head will be the Archdemon, and in its wake will come thousands upon thousands of darkspawn. We must be ready to stare squarely into the eyes of oblivion. Many of you have asked me why I remain here when such threats are mounting in the east. The problem, you see, is not a new one for us. Politics. To say Ferelden and Orlais have been at odds is an understatement. These two are like dogs and cats. We Wardens are Orlesian by address only, but that does not seem to matter to Ferelden leaders. 

 

Word is that the King of Ferelden is dead. And his successor, Loghain Mc Tir, a national hero who helped expel invading Orlesian forces from Ferelden, seems to have it out for our order too. Maybe he doubts our abilities. Maybe he is more foolish than the history books make him out to be. This is why we must wait, even as Ferelden willingly welcomes its fate.

I excluded dwarves if their race was mentioned (cuz Varric is the only one at the table) and people that would be dead or too old by apperence by now if there's a date.

Regarding the last name thing and the Fenris thing: people tend to call the person by the name they're introduced to them by, and Fenris never said he wanted to be known as Leto anymore. He has no connection to that person anymore, that person is gone, whereas he came to be who he is as Fenris, so it makes sense he'd want to continue being caled by that. Plus, it's not like he found out about his old name in the best way.

 

The calling-your-lover-or-friend-by-their-last-name works pretty well on shows like Castle and Bones, I don't think any fans are particularly bothered by it, considering the ship name for the main two on Castle is a mashup of their last names.

I think Blackwall's first name will be William. William Blackwall sounds good, and it fits him, imo.

 

I've been away for a week or so, but I must say that I totally dig Sera's look, especially her outfit, and Blackwall looks incredible aswell. Iron Bull does too, but there's not much to add to him really, since we've already seen his back quite a few times by now. Still, I love all these new reveals, and I'll keep on hoping the next one is the DHMG. Tevinter magister go go go!

Thank you for posting that. Its the first time I've seen anything saying they are apparently gonna unveil a "critical path" and showcase the story itself at E3. Looks like I might have to enter my media blackout phase earlier than I thought....

Wow. First Sera has "bad decision" hair, Iron Bull is the "bad decision" chili dog, now that. lol Bad decisions and rough starts all around! This could either result in something really pathetic... or the Avengers. lol
